Re: sponsership
IF your marriage is legit in the immigration authorities eyes then as the law stands currently, no, the finances will not matter.

Re: sponsership
I'd like to hop on this subject with another question.
Would disclosing the financial and employment status of the Finnish spouse help when applying for a family ties-based residence permit? My husband seems to think that it would be useful, but when the time comes for me to apply I don't want to load up my file with documents that would be deemed superfluous.

Re: sponsership
It won't help. Currently I think "family member's of Finnish Citizen's" even use a form specific for them which does not have any questions related employment of financial issues. By law, if the marriage (or sufficient co-habitation) is genuine one, financial considerations play no role.TwoThree wrote:I'd like to hop on this subject with another question.

A secure income is not required from
a native Finn and his or her family member"

Indeed, the form doesn't mention them anywhere.Rip wrote:It won't help. Currently I think "family member's of Finnish Citizen's" even use a form specific for them which does not have any questions related employment of financial issues.
