Hallo to all the members of Finland Forum.
Me and my boyfriend (Slovakian, living 8years in Finland) are thinking of moving to Porlammi (100km far from Helsinki) - as he got a job offer there. We're expecting our baby to come on the beginning of September and I would like to give birth in Helsinki.
Anyway, does any of you live in Porlammi or close by? How is life there? Is there any chance to get in touch with other foreigners?
I live in Finalnd second year, am from the Czech Republic and speak some very very basic Finnish. Haven't had life experience out of Helsinki yet, so am a bit worried of how is life of a foreigner in the smaller town or village in Finland.
Could anyone share experience?
Thanks!
I wish you all beautiful summer days!
Vendula
Life in Porlammi
Re: Life in Porlammi
Porlammi is a village in the municipality of Lapinjärvi. From their website, it appears the main maternity ward serving the area is located in Porvoo.johannka wrote:Me and my boyfriend (Slovakian, living 8years in Finland) are thinking of moving to Porlammi (100km far from Helsinki) - as he got a job offer there.
