residence permit
Hello,
Guys i need your help. Anybody who has some experience please write me. There is no Finnish Embassy in my homecountry. I have already submitted electronic application for applying my first study residence permit., but I have to visit the selected service point for identification purposes. So I need Residence permit for studying purposes and I have a notification of admission from the university I have been accepted. The problem is that I dont know what I should do? which embassy I should visit for the identification purpose and present the original copies of attached documents in the electronic application form. Thank you in advance.

Re: residence permit
It is the nearest country accredited to your country. Not necessarily the neares. Other option is, if some other EU country is taking care of Finnish interests, that might also be an option. You might want to look at www.formin.fi

Re: residence permit
I got through similar situation a few months ago. My advice would be to email Migri office and tell them about the situation. They will reply with a few options that suit you the most. Alternatively you can search for Finish embassies on the internet.
Re: residence permit
Tokmazishvili, so you're probably from Georgia. Your best bet is to call the Finnish consulate in your capital.
Every case is unique. You can't measure the result of your application based on arbitrary anecdotes online.

Definitely not.adnan wrote:Tokmazishvili, so you're probably from Georgia. Your best bet is to call the Finnish consulate in your capital.
This is a Honorary Consulate, and Migri states explicitely that you cannot submit your application to an honorary consulate.

Christ on the cross!! Who said ANYTHING about her submitting papers to the consulate?! She should ask them where to submit the papers as they're her best bet to get correct information for her situation. This is a Honorary Consulate, and Migri states explicitely that you cannot submit your application to an honorary consulate.

So why didn't you give her the contact information of the responsible ambassador instead?adnan wrote:Christ on the cross!! Who said ANYTHING about her submitting papers to the consulate?! Giving the contact information of the Honorary Consul instead of the contact information of the ambassador accredited from Helsinki didn't really make sense.
And yes, there is a risk that she might have travelled to Tbilisi based on your answer only for finding out that the person there cannot help her.

They have no Finnish embassy in Georgia!! That's why she needs to CONTACT as in CALL, with A PHONE, and ask the consulate about which EMBASSY she needs to submit her application. Again, because there's no Finnish embassy in Georgia.

Only if OP is idiot like you and read "CALL" as "I SHOULD TRAVEL THERE!"Adrian42 wrote:
