Post by memoreyx » Sun Sep 02, 2012 3:19 am

I was working in Finland for one summer. And i applied for tax refund.
I got a mail from the finnish tax office (vero). And its in finnish.

But I dont know what to do next.

My two questions are:
Do I have to send fill it send it back to finland? e.g. Bank account information
Or do I have to just wait? Is this mail just for information.

Under PALAUTETTAVA on the right hand side of the first page, they say that in order to get the amount paid into your bank account directly you should inform the tax office of your bank account number in writing and that it should be signed. It also says that you can inform them of your account number online at vero.fi/epalvelut.

You don't "apply" for a tax refund. The tax office sends the paperwork to your registered address, and deposits the money into your bank account. Thats why when you leave Finland you leave them your address of buy the forwarding service and keep a bank account 'alive' as well, as otherwise getting the money is a pain in the ass - they might do IBAN numbers these days to the euro zone (haven't checked)
