Hello,
I have a few questions concerning registering right of residency. I looked for information in Finnish police website but had a hard time finding clear answers to my concerns.
I am a full degree student studying for next 4 years in Finland. I am also a EU citizen so I don't need residency permit, but I do need to register my right of residency.
So here are my questions:
1. Is it necessary to have an insurance to be successfully registered?
2. Do I need a proof of sufficient funds? and what is considered a proof? I have roughly 4300 euros in my bank account and my parents will support me financially when I have used up that money. How do I show it to the immigration police?
Thanks in advance!

In the pdf application form it asks for a statement of funds from students -meaning bank statement etc.http://www.poliisi.fi/poliisi/home.nsf/ ... nti_en.pdf
To register your right of residence, you will need:
an EU registration form
your national proof of identity or passport
in case of paid employment, a confirmation of the employment relationship or a certificate of employment from the employer
if the applicant is self-employed, information on their self-employment
from students, proof of being registered with a Finnish educational institution and having adequate health insurance cover
from other than employees and self-employed persons, information on means of support is required
Form: European Unioin Citizen
Registration of right of residence (pdf)
Citoyen de L'Union Européenne (pdf), France
European Union Citizen (pdf), Deutsch
You can also apply for registration of your right of residence via the online service.
As a rule, a precondition for registering a right of residence is that the applicant has sufficient income to support him/herself and his/her family. No fixed amounts have been laid down for the income requirement, and the individual circumstances of each applicant are taken into consideration when making the decision.
A registration of a right of residence is valid until further notice. After being continuously and legally resident in Finland for five years, an EU citizen is entitled to permanent residence. The residence card of an EU citizen's family member is generally valid for 5 years. After this, a permanent residence card may be obtained.
