Finland South to North on Bicycle
I will be bicycle touring from Amsterdam to Nordkapp ( North Cape ) starting late spring. I plan to leave Helsinki northward around the 1st of July. My question is, does anyone have a route they could recommend from Helsinki heading north for at least a couple kilometers just to get me out of the busy traffic areas ? Any other recommendations or tips are greatly appreciated.

Where exactly is "north"?

How many days will it take you to pedal 1500 km?
(At least on my map the return trip will be all downhill.)

As he persisted, I was obliged to tootle him gently at first and then, seeing no improvement, to trumpet him vigorously with my horn.

My grandfather went to school with MC Escher. For grandpa, the walk really was uphill both ways.(At least on my map the return trip will be all downhill.)

Hi,
I would follow the train tracks from the railway station to Leppävaara. Then take the old Turku road to Turku. That is actually
not exactly north, but if you are in no hurry that is a nice bike route. From Turku I would bike over the Åland Islands to Sweden, and then continue north from there. Åland is great for biking, nice asphalt and not many cars.
Here is the map to Turku for biking:

There is a company called Nordkapp in Helsinki, you should ask them for a sponsorship.
