Hello all,
I have a few questions about the baby's stuff and travelling with a baby, and I would really appreciate if you help me out in answering my questions and sharing your thoughts and tips.
My questions are as follows:
Q1) I know that mother with a baby e.g. (1 year old) can get free rides in Buses. My questions is: What about trains (vr.fi) from city to another? Is it free as well?
Q2) If a mother wants to take a taxi with her child e.g. (1 year old), But she doesn't have her own car seat - Will the taxi driver bring one? In other words, Do cabs in Finland have car seats for babies?
Q3) Could you please share with me some of the online shops where I can buy NEW cheap and good stroller?
Thank you very much !

You don't get free rides in buses with kid under 6. You get the free ride with kid _and_ stroller, as then you must use the center doors and you can't be expected to leave the kid there and go to pay. http://www.hsl.fi/en/information/faq-travelingMary2012 wrote:Hello all,

And that depends also by town. Using Helsinki just as an example.
You are expected to buy the ticket before boarding the train...

Good, cheap, fast, pick two. So no help with stroller shop.

Thanks Upphew for your inputs.
I asked about the trains because I read on this thread (https://www.finlandforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=11575) where people stated that you can get free rides, obviously: "kid _and_ stroller", What kind of train/trips that would be? short distances e.g. Espoo to Helsinki? Or, long ones?
I read on other old threads that people were buying good quality strollers from German websites and other online sites, they say prices are much cheaper than buying from Finland. So, I am rephrasing my question: Could you please recommend some online shops (German sites or other European sites which ship to Finland) where I can buy NEW good stroller?

As the thread you refer says: greater Helsinki area, basically places you can see with reittiopas.fi (and even then I'm not sure about Kerava and Järvenpää..)Mary2012 wrote:Thanks Upphew for your inputs.

Kerava and Kirkkonummi are part of HSL-area, not Järvenpää. Applies to local traffic trains, not on the long distance trains even if they'd make the two or more stops within the area.Upphew wrote: As the thread you refer says: greater Helsinki area, basically places you can see with reittiopas.fi (and even then I'm not sure about Kerava and Järvenpää..)
