Possible Fraud ???
Re: Possible Fraud ???
If they dont pay to you i dont see how MOL can force you to work with them.
No pay = no work.

Yeah, morally it seems like a scam, but I do not know which law they would have broken. They did not offer a job, if they did not offer to pay for it and finally
while there may be, a common experience seems to be you should not count on it while contacting them.any fu.c.king human with sound brain work in TE? anyways
Re: Possible Fraud ???
You should have put more money to the contract, mark the addition and other changes, sign and see if they would sign it again...roger_roger wrote:They not only offered the job but also sent me the half-signed contract paper for me to sign and return to them. Which I took to TE and got in trouble...Rip wrote:Yeah, morally it seems like a scam, but I do not know which law they would have broken. Neatly put a line through "There is no compensation" and write after/under/over it: monthly wage of 3800€ and full compensation for use of own tools and equipment.roger_roger wrote:I don't know where would I have put that one though... the contract reads:Upphew wrote:You should have put more money to the contract, mark the addition and other changes, sign and see if they would sign it again...

Re: Possible Fraud ???
I reckon they are doing this to everyone else too.
Take you on for three months traineeship.... without pay. Don't give you the job. Then move on to another unsuspecting person. So they never actually have to pay any income at all to get the jobs done.
Who the hell works for three months WITHOUT any pay?
What the hell?

Re: Possible Fraud ???
Is it legal to employee someone in Finland without any pay? There are those traineeships where the government pays your salary (~3months). But I havent heard of people working completely for free before.

roger_roger: I know we haven't agreed much in the past comments, however, about this scam (because in my own opinion is a scam and they scams booth: workers and state), why don't you make the company public: name, person you spoke with, I guess you got quite few details about company in the contract right? Send it to a newspaper, or TV that will be a big title.roger_roger wrote:Some company (cannot name here) contacted me after viewing my CV in mol.fi saying there is a possible job offer for me.
I followed the lead and had few conversation, even though I have few years of experience, the company said it will employ me as junior developer (in the same field I have been working). It was ok for me, instead of earning salary without working I thought of giving it a try. Gave an interview via skype, in an interview only, they said there is No Salary for junior developers for 3 months as they only hire junior developers as trainee, after 3 months if I am good enough, they'll hire me. Another interesting part is, it is home based job, no need to visit office.
It was my bad I didn't do any research about the company before interview, as it was not the company I send my CV or applied for job. So, I didn't have any question to ask during interview. But the person was telling about his Multi-national clients, Big clients in Finland and what they do.
After interview, I did bit research about the company, they don't have any online presence, there is a webpage with .fi domain and just a single page which says their contact Name and person, address + phone number. I went on to check on Fonecta, Kaupalehti, Yritys-suomi, etc, the company was registered in 2011 and fonecta has Vantaa address, Kaupalekhti + Yritys has Downtown Helsinki address and their wesite has some other address in Helsinki.
I had doubt and asked him via email about his developer team, members in the company... for which he replied, they have team of 10-15 developers and looking to expand, but all of their developers are remote workers and work mostly as freelancer. This raised my further doubt.
Bad thing is I was selected for the job, they called me to give such great news, I wasn't still sure, but I was like OK... 3 days later I received contract paper via post with a return envelope.
I wasn't sure to work for the company, but I had plans if TEK would give me Unemployment benefits while working for free for 3 months, then I could give it a try, something is better than nothing. So, I went to TE to ask them if I sign a contract in that company will I be able to get the benefits that I am getting? Mofo TE, without informing me they made decision that I am not eligible for Unemployment benefit as I have job, TEK stopped the payment.
Another fight going on with TE, as I proved them I haven't signed the contract, I was just asking their opinion... now the decision is pending that why I didn't take the offered job..... any fu.c.king human with sound brain work in TE? anyways, I know I will get the positive decision soon, but drought in income during christmas/new year is not good.
I am not going to take that job anyways, but were they trying to have fraud attempt? Given that I am not n00b or jr. level... searching CV via mol and contacting person with relevant experience for jr level position and make him work for free sounds all fishy... If I have to report them, where shall I do? being anonymous but will provide the proof when needed....
Some things I wanted to mention: internship is for students or people with no experience. As you mentioned you have few years (I guess education in the field also right?) so it's not the case. I recall that it's possible for companies to hire trainees without pay but then Kela will pay the wages, not much but something (maybe 600€/month? please correct me if I am wrong).
You can check all details about a company, if that company exists and so on I guess you know you can find everything (or almost) on the net.
As somebody mentioned, this is a quite a common practice at least never heard in Finland before but I know about it in other EU countries. Companies hire people as trainee for that period of time (3 months in our case) at the end they tell them that they don't need their services anymore, hire new people and so forth. Basically company doesn't pay any wages and handle all employee administration stuff and they make profit.
Please make the company public and all details so everybody will know and be aware of the scam!

(OK, there is supposed to be training included, but otherwise. Details apparently vary depending on the relevant TES)

Re: Possible Fraud ???
OK, so under the new TES for media at least you can only be employed for 3months and only if it is a mandatory part of your studies.
Anyway, I am sure any union would not think that this job is in anyway as a traineeship. How can you learn anything if you work remotely?
