Tarjoustalo - Anyone figure them out yet?
I get every week in the mailbox a flyer with 4-8 pages filled with small boxes exclaiming 'offers' on 'soup to nuts to soap'
On some occasions i have visited them and tried to physically go thru their 'total maze' and find things - IMO most of the so-called 'offers' have been pulled from a hat - and have no real relation to competitors' prices and thus are no offer at all - or even significantly higher for the very same product.
With some luck and a good price recall I do usually find something that at least compensates for the gasoline to get there - but rarely for the time spent and wasted.
1. What kind of products MIGHT one expect them to have that would be real offers?
2. (and this is mainly rhetorical) - How can they continue to 'shotgun' this kind of stuff and never wake up or been woken up - or are their steady customers so dense?

You should take the advertisement with you next time and show the item you are interested in to the sales person and they will solve your problem
Re: Tarjoustalo - Anyone figure
Thanks - but that's been done - first trick is to FIND someone else besides the Kassa - no joke - it can take quite an effort - and often they are on a break - there is usually only one other person SOMEPLACE or other (at least in Mankka). And then they are usually so busy that you wish you hadn't asked. You should take the advertisement with you next time and show the item you are interested in to the sales person and they will solve your problem
The bigger problem is to find THE items that MIGHT be a bargain!

Re: Tarjoustalo - Anyone figure
Oh yeah - forgot about that - when I DO find something in the leaflet - it's GONE when I get there - even if it's the day the leaflet came - and a leaflet that's supposed to be good for at least some days - and when you ask the personnel they kind of laugh and say it was all sold in the morning - and they won't be getting any more - 'ha ha ha.'and besides, the stuff is sold out an hour after going on sale
That is just plain 'bad behavior' - I'm glad that Lidl has grown out of that trick for the most part - the stuff is usually there for at least a day.

Tarjoustalo is one of those stores that makes people think their items are cheaper than other places, as their name implies (= "sale house").
However, many of their sales aren't really sales at all. I have found them ok for cleaning items/soap, toiletries & make-up, and perhaps some plastic containers of some sort, such as those for berry picking.
I remember that once they had a really good sale on cloudberry jam, and yes it was sold out within the first couple of hours in the morning!
So, if you live relatively close to one and can walk there or cycle, then by all means check the place out. But I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way!
By the way, LIDL may be good at keeping their food sale items in stock. However, certain sizes of their clothing (which I have found to often be good quality) literally runs out within 30 minutes of opening time!! Yes, 8:30am. Happened to me just a month ago....

Re: Tarjoustalo - Anyone figure
The Tarjoustalo in Klaukkala was alright.
I use to get at least good fairly cheap summer clothing for my young son there. I never bought winter stuff unless it was a good brand like Kuoma winter boots. They often had them for almost half price.
And out of season or end of season I could get good discounts on clothes a size or two bigger than my son needed at that time for very little. So I was prepared in advance for the seasons they were needed in.

The other store that might be worth looking at in the same way:
Hong Kong
Again - I have a very similar reaction and experience with their weekly leaflets as I do with Tarjoustalo. The graphics are done somewhat better and less annoying.
They are not as easy to get to for me - but I ask:
What are they good for?

Lidl didnt grow out, finnish competition and consumer authority told them to stop "or else". http://www.kkv.fi/KKVn-toiminta-ja-ratk ... joitukset/harryc wrote:

So complain to them about misleading advertisement.

Got a leaflet from MustaPorssi in the mail and their frontpage offer for a mobile got my attention. They were selling it at 46% discount, but only 200 units.
Checked Verkkokauppa.com, the regular price there is only 10 euros more. So much for the discount

Including or excluding delivery? I have seen mustapörssi adverts where basic price is higher but it includes delivery so it was really much lower, in case you need delivery.ajdias wrote:Got a leaflet from MustaPorssi in the mail and their frontpage offer for a mobile got my attention. Free delivery included. Still, you get it from verkkokauppa for 2,9 from pakettiautomaatti, or 7 eur from regular post, not much there.

Shows again corporations are too stupid and greedy to do something 'right' without being TOLD to do it or not do it!harryc wrote:

Can hope someone can focus in and complain about Tarjoustalo monkey business!
btw: regarding K special offers - their routine is that there were 'delivery problems' - of course that means it's NEVER coming - not a delay.
Crooks - the bunch of them!

Back in the day... before the Euro... I wanted a DVD player as the VHS was foshizzling. Ifound a make and model I wanted...
Kruunuradio 2.999,- (no wonder they went bankrupt)
Musta Pörssi 1.999,- (special offer)
Hobbyhall & Anttila 1.799,- (but they offer 47,59 a month for 3 years)
Obscure swedish store that came and went 1.599,- (tarjous)
Markantalo 1.100,- (ainahan sitä on tähän hintaan myyty, mut ens viikolla menee taroukseen et 995,-?)
If the ebay was there I'd probably gotten it for 500 in Germany.
1 euro was 5,60 markka...
