Re: 1 millionth marmite thread
I've seen it in the 'foreign' food shop in Sello.
Its in the alley between the prisma/City-market bit and the main shopping part, if youre coming from the prisma side turn left towards the railway line and its 20 m on the right.
Not sure about the price though.

The P&S in Pori has Marmite & Vegemite, but at similar prices to Behnfords. A large jar of Marmite is around €12.Pursuivant wrote:Didn't those punnitse&säästä nut places sell vegemite?
Haven't needed to buy any at their prices as I have several jars in the cupboard. I did a lot of travelling last year - any time I visit a Commonwealth country (civilisation), I stock up on the staples - teabags, Marmite, Cadburys, Milo, Ovaltine etc...
I have a confession to make: I visited Australia in May 2013 and picked up several jars of Vegemite in Melbourne, on first tasting it seemed pretty much like Marmite ... delicious on toast... until I ran out and switched back to Marmite (picked up in South Africa this spring). Here's the confession ... I prefer Vegemite.

Visited the Helsinki Sokos / Marks & Spencer "store-in-store" on Friday... the food section is on the 4th floor.
Didn't see anything other than M&S own brands, so no Marmite, but the tea is reasonably priced ... €2.95 - €3.95 for 80 bags (4 boxes purchased). Wide range of proper biccies and sweets ... sherbet fruits, mint mix, mint imperals, S&V crisps. Had caramel shortcake with a cup of M&S tea when we got back to the hotel... nom nom nom!

Forsman's Lapsang souchong is the best, but rest of their teas tend to get some nasty stuff added to them.

Pirkka has also fine lager for thatchriscross wrote:I can not drink any other tea then normal black tea like Tetley or pgs

But to each his own. I prefer my tea loose and bigger bits than bags offer, my beer stronger than pirkka is allowed to offer and my whiskey smoky and peaty.

Late getting back to this thread as I haven't checked in recently, but lapsang souchong <shakes head sagely>, nay, nay and thrice nay ... that stuff tastes like you've used a kipper instead of a teabag ... vile oily smokey stuff. Try the M&S strong teabags with a drop of milk... a fantastic brew.
