Hi everyone, new member obviously, straight in with a question.
Having moved to Helsinki in July 2014 and not having access or needing a car, I have allowed my U.K license to expire due to be 10 years old without realising in November.
Now I need to renew and according to the HM.gov website I have to be U.K resident to renew my U.K license. The problem I'm trying to work out is to get a Finnish license it appears I have to book an appointment with the Poliiisi and I have to present among other things a valid E.U license to exchange.
The answer I cant seem to find anywhere; is my date expired photo card license still valid to use for exchange? Also will I need all the paper counterparts or just the photo I.D card?
Thanks !

Re: Renew UK driving license
The DVLA can send you a paper that states your licence/right to drive is valid even the card is expired.

Yes, it's called a certificate of entitlement and mine took less than a week to arrive. Very efficient. I sent DVLA an email and then followed it up with a quick phone call.
