What are the major housing search engines other than oikotie.fi to search for apartments to buy in the capital region.

Look in local papers - you can pick for free from any big mart or ask the banks - if you afford to pay commission - try Remax

I mean OP is looking for apartments to buy, and if I'm not mistaken (I've worked in one of them) those are the websites of companies that only rent apartments.

They are for municipal rental apartments. Obviously nothing what OP was asking for.

I recently found out that flats/houses are occasionally auctioned online. For example, if repossessed by a bank. Apparently there is a flat near Iso Omena that is currently up for sale this way. I don't have a link though. Maybe someone with better Finnish than mine can google...
