Communication effectiveness recognizes the importance of the non-verbal components of communication: body language and message tone are essential. Because the verbal element of communication plays a small role in delivering messages, an employee’s tone of voice, facial expression, posture or gestures can create a disconnect with a customer, even if the employee’s words are factually correct. Organizations in the service and hospitality industry, in particular, should understand the value of a smile while extending a welcoming greeting to their clients.

There is nothing of personal benefit, when people SPEAKING out illicit behaviors- They are people speaking out and it affects them, may also affect others and not just a person!roger_roger wrote:Indeed. Speaking up for making our society is better thing to do, but only doing so for personal benefit is called lack of respect for the society.Nimi wrote: I love Finland as much as you do and will not let it derail from its good standards internationally! Adnan....
You talk non stop about the country you are from in your posts, so I have no qualms about mentioning it. It's nothing personal. I don't give a !"#¤% where you are from. I was using it as an example.
I am not your "mate", so don't call me that.
I find you to be an informative poster and help a lot here in these forums, but I also find you often come across as an arrogant pr*ck.
Good for you for thinking your life is great. That's wonderful, brilliant...... Other people have good lives too. I live in one of the world's greatest countries (peace wise, weather wise, standard of living, etc), I have good friends, a good family, I have a job I love..... I just don't need to boast about it every time I have a disagreement with someone, like you.
I am entitled to the way I feel, just as you are, just as the people who shout out "racism" all the time are.
I am very grateful for all Finland gave me over the years I have lived there. I also know I worked hard all the years I lived there and helped to pay for all the people who complain about unfounded racism get. People's sense of entitlement p*ss me off.

Mate, mentioning the country wasn't what made it personal. You don't fall a victim to the fallacy by bringing personal facts into the discussion; that's quite normal. You become irrational when you use those personal irrelevant facts in your arguments.. which is exactly what you did.Flossy1978 wrote:You talk non stop about the country you are from in your posts, so I have no qualms about mentioning it.
Let me spell it out for you: OP being from India (a country ridden with racism) doesn't disqualify her/him from speaking about racism in other countries. Those two things have nothing to do with each other. That is also separate from the fact that she cried racism. Those are SEPARATE things. Got it this time?
The complete lack of self-awareness is good when you're dancing, but not so much when you're engaging in civil discussion.
I really hope you understood how you're being irrational. Not because you're going after racism criers.. that's perfectly okay, and I actually encourage you to do so.
Now that we got that covered, let's continue the rational discussion.
Well, that's because I am. I never deny that. What I am, also, is someone who refuses to let irrationality slide. I see, I call it.Flossy1978 wrote:but I also find you often come across as an arrogant pr*ck.
I'm happy we found something on which we can agree.

Every case is unique. You can't measure the result of your application based on arbitrary anecdotes online.

And in this particular case, the OP decided explicitly not to seek personal benefits (by refusing to accept the compensation they were offered), but went to the trouble to report the case to the police. I think this is very commendable, and I wished that people not personally affected by discrimination would show the same courage themselves more often, for them, it's much easier to speak out. And surely, the fact that racism and discrimination are more prevalent in one country or the other doesn't mean that it shouldn't be challenged every time.Nimi wrote: There is nothing of personal benefit, when people SPEAKING out illicit behaviors- They are people speaking out and it affects them, may also affect others and not just a person!

Interesting to find many self righteous pricks who did anything but help the OP. By logic of some around here in this forum "If one comes from a XXXX (fill the name with any country where there are problems with murder, rape, genocide etc)" they are not entitled to any legal discourse. Why - well because it is so common in their country so they need to go back, fix it somehow and then come back to ask for legal help. We should just treat them as if they are subhuman and that won't be a problem.
Thankfully - this is not how the law operates. Congrats to OP for standing up to these thugs and complaining to the police.
