Johnny Rockets (or other similar) in Finland?

So apparently, from the JR website, there is no Johnny Rockets in Finland. But is that really true?

Are there any other similar American restaurants besides Mcdonald's in Finland?

I have never eaten at a JR so I do not know what you're looking for, exactly, but by a quick glance at their menu, they appear to be a burger / sandwich place.

As far as burger franchises go, besides McDonald's, there's...

• Hesburger
• Burger King
• Friends & Brgrs
• Snacky
• Rolls

Of these, only Burger King is American by origin. But I'm not sure if you're looking for "American" or just... burgers?

As for grilled sandwiches with cheese, there's Subway, at least.

Then there are various franchises and stand-alone establishments which also have burgers (and maybe even grilled sandwiches) on their menu, but are not necessarily defined by them or which are a bit more upmarket from McD's or Subway, such as... say, Chico's, which was already mentioned, or the now-defunct Midhill. Well, practically any average restaurant and random bbq/kebab place can cook up some sort of a burger for you... maybe not the ethnic places, though. Maybe you'd like to tell us where in Finland do you live (city and neighborhood) and it would then be easier to suggest something.

Johnny Rockets is a chain restaurant modeled after a 50s diner in the US. It is nicer than McDs but not quite as nice as Friday's. I think you should be able to find a restaurant here modeled after a 50s diner . . . but it won't be a chain.

There's an American themed place on Jätkäsaari that had cars on display, food, and occasional live music. But maybe it's gone now or my Google skills are seriously lacking tonight.

If you're really curious or desperate, first Friday of every month there's a vintage car gathering at Kauppatori. Many of the American car folk are there and they'd know where a good diner would be. It might be in Turku . . . but they'd know.

@Jukka well, from their menu they look like a typical fast food restaurant like Mcdonald's and the like, but JR is way better and not sure if it classifies as fast food. I just love their mozzarella cheese sticks, boneless rocket wings and a chicken sandwich with their Smokehouse sauce. I'll see if I can find any other restaurants like it when I get there (not in Finland yet).

That one looks good and I'll be staying in Tampere. Most importantly, they have mozzarella sticks haha. I'm definitely gonna try that place.

If it's mozzarella sticks you want you can find them in lots of restaurants (for instance in Burger King) and the frozen food section in most stores.

Well, it's not the only thing I want but they are important. It's also not the same everywhere. I tried it many places, but JR always tastes the best.

I tried their now-defunct restaurant in Vaasa, which was located in one of the two round-cornered copper-and-glass buildings right at the edge of the then-just-rebuilt market square. But that one closed down pretty soon. It was first replaced by a pizzeria, then the R-kioski convenience store with its windows taped shut with their garish yellow-and-blue color theme, totally unfitting for that building and environment. The identical sister building right beside used to be a hip music store but was then converted into an optician's. Which is pretty dull development as the original purpose of those two buildings - set apart from the larger commercial buildings around the market square - was to enliven the city center, and the street upon which those buildings stand and which was blocked from cars when they rebuilt the area as a pedestrian zone. The current occupants cannot exactly be considered lively attractions to the pedestrians. :P

But long story short, I found them pretty good while they still existed there.

If the OP ever visits Espoo, he might want to try out The Chili's at Mankkaa.
