Volunteering while waiting for RP

Hi All,

Is it possible to move to Finland and volunteer at my potential employer (under 90 days without a RP) while waiting for the 4 -5 month processing queue for the Residence Permit that I've applied for (Residence Permit for Employed Persons)? There's no information on the migri.fi website on volunteering?

Any experience or suggestions/thoughts on this?

It can still be interpreted as work, even if there is no salary involved.

Plus I assume it's illegal for the employer to accept free work if it's a for profit organization.
