if you find a dealer that does all that for you, then it will cost you just as much as renting it. or almost.Juha C wrote:I'm about to leave for Finland and I'm thinking about buying a used car to use for 3 weeks. Seems slightly cheaper than renting. Will a dealer take care of all the paperwork and insurance? Ideally, I'd like to walk into a dealership and drive away with a car. Can it be done in a few hours? And would a dealer buy back the car after 2-3 weeks? At a lower price, I'm sure, but that might be easier than finding a buyer.
such are the laws of consumerism.
if you are willing to take a little risk for yourself & do some papers, it can be very cheap indeed. you might even sell the car for a higher price afterwards...
buying + the papers takes just a few hours, if you do it during weekday opening hours.
