Hello everyone,
I am here in Finland for studying. I have been here since January 2016, and at the moment I have a B VISA. However, I started to work on March and back then I had a fixed contract, but now I got a permanent contract AND of course I am still studying... So the question is... Am I eligible for a A VISA? A friend of mine, told me that at this moment, I can get A VISA only for one year, then after that I will get for 4 years.... I was trying to find the right answer on Migri, but I couldnt find the answers for this type of question.
Please , let me know if I am eligible for a A VISA?
Thank you, Star
From a student visa ( B ) to A visa
Re: From a student visa ( B ) to A visa
Your friend is correct.
Every case is unique. You can't measure the result of your application based on arbitrary anecdotes online.
Re: From a student visa ( B ) to A visa
Visa is for visiting, up to three months, residence permit is for residing. It helps with search if you got the right terms.Seven7 wrote:Hello everyone,

That being said: "The first permit is usually granted for a year, unless the residence permit is specifically applied for a shorter period." http://www.migri.fi/our_services/faq/re ... rmit_types
