health care

Post by aplaceinthesky » Wed Nov 15, 2017 10:03 pm

Hello to everyone,

I have a question regarding the health care. What are the differences in Finland between public and private Healthcare? I live in Turku and I would like to know what is the procedure to contact the public healthcare because for now, I used only Mehinläinen or TerveysTalo, but they are quite expensive and I'm currently waiting for Kela decision regarding the social security. Another question is, can I use a prescription made by a doctor in my country of origin? Here In Finland? My country is Italy, and as far as I know its an EU country so I wonder if this can be possible since I'm diabetic.

Thank you

Antonio
