01/05/2018 We have received the processing fee for your application.
17/05/2018 You have proved your identity and a diary number has been created for your application. You can see the diary number at the top of the page. Your application has been placed in the processing queue. We will contact you if we need more information from you. Our processing times can be found on our website at www.migri.fi
30/05/2018 You have sent additional information for the application. We have received it. The documents you sent are displayed in the application information.
23/11/2018 You have received the decision.

I have a question, now that I got the citizenship, I want to go abroad to do a freelance work project and I want to move my address abroad for that time, do you know if I need to first go to the police to get the actual passport before i can move my address abroad? I have another European passport already, so that does not block me from travelling.

Thanks,

Hello, I am new here and looking for advice.
First of all merry Christmas to everyone!
I have been living in Finland for the past 9 years and applied for citizenship in October.
In September I left temporarily for an Erasmus studies in another EU country and I will be out of the country for not more than 6 months.
In all this years I have been in Finland I have only been away for 2 months once. The rest are short trips not lasting even 1month due to holidays.

I have been reading Migri's web and saw that a period out of Finland < 1 year will not unterrupt my continous residence so I thought I could apply without any problem. But reading some posts here I started thinking that I won't get a positive decision if I am not in Finland when they process my aplication .
Is that possible even if I am out of the country for less than a year? Do you have some advices?
Thanks all and will see you here! Good luck with your decision!

Hi mate!, I will advise you not to go because you are not expected to leave Finland for a long period of time during the processing of your application.

Good luck.

Hello every one and compliment of the season, I have a question please and hope you all can help, I am thinking about applying for citizenship in Jan 2019 but would have used 4years in finland June 2019, I believe the process takes a long time and they might probably answer during the same time I would be 4yrs as it takes 6-9 months. Is it advisable I do that or rather just wait till June and then apply, the reason I intend applying in Jan is because my passport has got 6months validity remaining and to renew, I would have to go to the neighbouring country and I just had a baby, so is my permit also expiring early next year, so m thinking of saving cost by just applying for the citizenship earlier so I won't have to travel to get a passport or the permit.. do you think I could get denied?

You have to prove your identity in person for your application to move forward. They will not allow you to go ahead if you haven't fulfilled the necessary conditions. So this is a no go.

Is it required to submit bank statement? It is not asked anywhere on paper application form.
