How can I find the customs fees to bring my car to Finland?
Also... has anyone moved with a shipping container to Finland? This is a good deal, right? Are there expensive customs fees or other taxes for moving with a shipping container, containing one's household items?

I had the same questions aa you, so I just decided to make a company take care of all of that, it's actually a door-to-door moving.FaultyWalnut wrote: ↑Thu Jan 17, 2019 9:38 pmHow can I find the customs fees to bring my car to Finland?

I think the tax part depends where are the things coming from. In my case I didn't have to pay any taxes. But it depends on the country of origin.

Out of curiosity, how much did you end up paying for a shipping container to Finland? Where did it originate from?

You have to be a bit watchful if you are moving your car.FaultyWalnut wrote: ↑Thu Jan 17, 2019 9:38 pmAlso... has anyone moved with a shipping container to Finland? This is a good deal, right? I was initially planning to move with my car, but given my Car was a Non-Eu Spec - it could lead to quite high Taxes.
We decided not to go for it.
About Taxes, to be honest my Shipment is still on the way so will know once it lands at the Door.
But in general from what I have heard from others, normal house hold goods do not attract a lot of taxes.

Afaik the non-eu spec doesn't mean anything regarding taxes. CO2 emissions and value of the car does.biswajit.sharma wrote: ↑Fri Feb 15, 2019 10:51 amI was initially planning to move with my car, but given my Car was a Non-Eu Spec - it could lead to quite high Taxes.

Technically you are correct. Co2 emission is the key.Upphew wrote: ↑Fri Feb 15, 2019 11:22 amAfaik the non-eu spec doesn't mean anything regarding taxes. We decided not to go for it.
But given EU specs are what Finland follows, it kind of settles down to the same thing.
(Lot of GCC cars are not closer to EU specs)
Please refer here, https://www.vero.fi/en/individuals/vehi ... d_vehicle/
It mentions: vehicles subject to reduced car tax or exemption >> EU Vehicles.
Re: moving with shipping container + car to Finland
EU vehicles are cars that are used by EU institutions and their members. Parliament, council, commission, bank, etc. So basically unless you are working for ECHA (echa.europa.eu) that won't matter to you.biswajit.sharma wrote: ↑Fri Feb 15, 2019 12:27 pmTechnically you are correct. You are right, it was my misinterpretation of that link.
None the less, we decided not to take our car.
