It's our nature, the idea that kids are born pure and kind is a myth. Has been happening since forever, kids are just not as resourceful as adults.
Doesn't mean that we as society shouldn't act or worry, but there's nothing to gain by pretending this is new.

I don't think anybody is pretending. Some are blue-eyed on this! What surprises me is the brashness (lack of sympathy thereof) and the lack of an outrage - to answer the original question as well, aren't the parents aware of the behaviour, and are they turning a blind-eye (blue-eyed).

They learn from the parents.

Highly unlikely that Finnish article about Finnish news in Finnish newspaper is done with google translate.

Again, am I the only one who finds it asinine that this guy links to articles entirely in Finnish and comes here to discuss them in plain English, assuming everyone here is fluent in the damn tongue? Surely you know by now that a lot of people on this forum are expats or soon-to-be expats, so don't act all surprised that someone is calling you out on this nonsense.

Also, they're learning the hate from their elders; usually upper-middle class, white, out-of-touch nationalists who need to keel over and die already.

Kids have always been like that, at least some picking on each other, also when all were white in most schools. Definitely it's not exclusively a Finnish trait, either.

Racism against Romanis goes back, way, way back-centuries in fact. The fact that they have resisted assimilation adds to their alienation unfortunately. Their low levels of education has not helped either.

That's what it says in the news story of the first post. In public, only Roma women wear a certain type of traditional dress.

Eh. can't find anything related in the news (translated by Google). What's the word? I'm trying to learn Finnish.

You used the word in already your earlier post. The news story headline: "Kokkolalaisessa romaniperheessä..."
