From Migri website: When you apply for Finnish citizenship, you must be able to inform us reliably about your source of income. You must tell us the source(s) of your livelihood during the entire period of residence that is required of you in order to become a Finnish citizen.

You are right. It was my mistake not to list down everything because I was a student so i thought no need to tell about income since obviously I had no income during that time.

IT or cleaner shouldn't factor in when officials decide citizenship applications. ID, age, period of residence, integrity, payment obligations, means of support and language skills. I don't see how IT or cleaner would have more merits in any of those categories. Especially as Kela's money is ok as means of support.

I received a positive citizenship decision today. Overall it took a little over 5 months.

14/1/2019 Proved identity
7/6/2019 Stage 2
19/6/2019 Request for supplementary information, responded to request, positive decision

The request only asked about any previous trips outside of Finland. I kept my application updated with my payslips.

10/1/2019 Prove identity
13/1/2019 Stage 1
15/5/2019 Stage 2
27/5/2019 Supplement request
13/6/2019 Supplement request 2

To all the great people here in this post, i did the yki exam and got 3 on reading 3 on listening. I need to pass writing or speaking, any tips ?

Lastly, do you mention how often you travel out of finland in last 5 years ?! how do you even remember that :D!

Thanks!

You should aim for passing all the modules. For passing writing or speaking, you should practice it every day. You can speak what you have written. In this way you can improvise in the test too by interchanging the scenarios when needed. This is how I did, I used to go chapter by chapter in Suomen Metari book 1 and 2, convert it into my local language and then start writing Finnish for it. In this way I was able to eliminate converting the text to English language (which every one of us do). So I did not have not to work hard to remember the story in the chapter. Once I had the story written in my notebook, I kept on practicing that every other day. Then I started speaking what I used to write and my speaking improved just enough to pass YKI exam.

I passed YKi with 3 grade in every module except Listening and that too in my very first attempt.

Or ... Get an " ammattitutkinto " that will spare you from the language test

I personally would not do that as it requires quite a lot of time to get through that course. It takes far less time to prepare for and pass YKI exam.

In other to pass the ammattitutkinto you will need to speak better than you need to pass YKI. Also it takes years to make it.
