It is written that the passport must be original, as well as translated into English, Finnish or Swedish.

And you must send your passport by registered mail.
You can attach all other data online.

It was about the time my application move to second stage (looking at ppl posting who applied on March) but corona spread chaos will delay everything. So thinking about my luck. But it's unavoidable so just will wait patiently as migri told🤔.

Have just signed up for this forum and saw this post.

I submitted my application yesterday in Lahti (17.3). The process was super quick. Having spent only 12 minutes (seriously counting) in the interview I then returned to Helsinki.   My application links to family tie (Finnish spouse). 1,5 years on B and then 3,5 years on A. A bit interesting to my case as I am not at the moment eligible for permanent residency but Finnish citizenship.

I got some ideas from the experiences of classmates/friends of mine but processing time really varied. The rationale for the processing time is unknown but from what I have heard, those who apply for Finnish citizenship based on family ties (particularly applicant's spouse being Finnish citizen) usually get much shorter time for the results (4-6 months in general) because this group of applicants have the strongest tie to Finland from migri's perspective as family tie is regarded as irresistible human rights. Migri has unlikely any stronger reasons to reject these applications unless the Finnish spouse failed in managing his/her living or had had many marriages. Applicants' nationality should not be the case taken into account.

Those on work bases might take longer, simply layoff can happen at anytime of the year, especially the waves of layoff have just started to hit Finland, so migri definitely needs much longer time to review the applicant's job stability. No job means no more concrete ground to grant the citizenship.

These are from my friends' experiences. My speculations might be wrong. Ahead of the queue there are over 4000 similar applicants. I'll just sit back and relax.

So this thread is closed. Or all the earlier applicants from 2019 got decisions? 1 year+ 9 days and I asked Migri they replied just wait.
