Hey guys!
My gf is an EU citizen and i am from a non-EU country and unfortunately neither of our countries is recognizing same-sex marriage or partnership. We are not married yet, planning to. And are currently in a dilemma and would like to ask you a few questions.
My gf has been offered a very good job in Finland so she would like to move there but the question is whether she can take me with her, since on Finland immigration page it says;
‘If your common-law spouse has a residence permit for Finland and he/she lives in Finland, you may be eligible to receive a residence permit in Finland based on family ties. You may be eligible for the permit, if:
you and your common-law spouse have lived together for at least two years”
According to this i am not eligible for a residency permit. Am i interpreting it right? Because we haven’t lived together yet.
We are in a long distance relationship but we are planning to get together In the non-EU country where i am currently residing in in which same-sex partnerships are allowed. If she cannot take me to Finland she won’t accept the job which is a huge bummer for both of us. Is there any way around this?
We are planning to get married once and if we can go to Finland.
Thank you in advance!

Marry here in Finland? You'll be in a limbo for a while when you wait for your RP after the marriage here.Thames78 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 29, 2020 2:10 amHey guys!

As the gf is an EU citizen, this would not go through the RP process but as a registration of right of residence.
