Hi,
I booked an appointment with Nordea for a bank account. When I went there they did photocopy my documents and they told me someone will call me in up to 2 weeks to ask information and then I will go back to sign. Is this the normal procedure? So for example, max 2 weeks this one and then maybe 1-2 weeks wait for a debit card to arrive? Does somebody know why this happens, it is related to COVID-19?
Thanks,
George
Banks and opening bank account procedure
Re: Banks and opening bank account procedure
It was many years ago since I opened my account with S-pankki, cannot remember the procedure...if you don't need an account that begins with FI you could open an euro account with N26, quickly online and 100% free, you'll get your debit card delivered at home in less than a week.

Thanks for the answer, so I assume you have tried the card and you have no issues, right?Y77 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 01, 2020 10:52 amIt was many years ago since I opened my account with S-pankki, cannot remember the procedure...if you don't need an account that begins with FI you could open an euro account with N26, quickly online and 100% free, you'll get your debit card delivered at home in less than a week.

It’s a Mastercard so works like any other similar debit card from the merchant’s perspective.gmarkoma wrote: ↑Wed Sep 02, 2020 9:49 amThanks for the answer, so I assume you have tried the card and you have no issues, right?Y77 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 01, 2020 10:52 amIt was many years ago since I opened my account with S-pankki, cannot remember the procedure...if you don't need an account that begins with FI you could open an euro account with N26, quickly online and 100% free, you'll get your debit card delivered at home in less than a week.

It's worth the waiting. You need a Finnish bank account to link to your ID in order to use some of online services, such as MyTax and customs declaration.gmarkoma wrote: ↑Mon Aug 31, 2020 2:38 pmHi,

Can be done through a mobile operator / SIM card as well.agroot wrote: ↑Fri Sep 04, 2020 12:11 amIt's worth the waiting. You need a Finnish bank account to link to your ID in order to use some of online services, such as MyTax and customs declaration.gmarkoma wrote: ↑Mon Aug 31, 2020 2:38 pmHi,

Yes, I will wait for bank account but I would need an IBAN to get paid this month. I opened N26 bank account and waiting for the card.
