I'm idly searching Oikotie for houses with large lots in Swedish-speaking areas within a day trip of Helsinki, and I notice odd things about property boundaries near water. This listing comprises lots __58 and __59, and if you look at the boundaries of __59:
you see it goes very near but not quite to an inlet of the Gulf of Finland.
This listing is just one lot, __75, split by a road, and it also goes pretty near the sea until it, too, is cut off by the neighbor:
How accommodating would the neighbors typically be toward allowing the purchaser of either of these properties to go down to the water to swim, or to carry a boat small enough to be carried? I imagine it's too close to their houses for jokamiehenoikeus to apply, but if one were to start off the relationship on a friendly footing what would the typical outcome be?
I'm currently just getting a feel for the idea of moving to Finland; I'm sure these specific properties will be off the market long before I'm in a position to move, but I want to learn about the issues involved in living with Finnish neighbors.

First one would go very near neighbour's sauna, at least it looks like sauna. Also there is proper harbour near by, so I would park my boat there, rather than use something I can carry. Kayak not included. Second one seems to have pier where you would go to the sea and I would avoid that too.

OK, forget the boats. But since you mention a sauna, both of these properties have one, and I imagine people will want to walk naked between the water and the sauna several times while the sauna is in use?Upphew wrote: ↑Thu Jan 21, 2021 9:18 amFirst one would go very near neighbour's sauna, at least it looks like sauna. Not likely through neighbour's property. I can't recall any time that I have been in sauna that has been near the water, but in a way that there is a neighbour between, so I can't say what I would do. Most likely just chill on the porch, sipping beer and admiring the view.Western Rover wrote: ↑Thu Jan 21, 2021 7:32 pmOK, forget the boats.
