- Proved identity on 25.11.2020 in Lappeenranta
- Queue number 1760 (it moves around 20 steps a day)
- Stage 1
- Russian, in Finland for almost 8 years, type B (studies) 2013-2017, then from 2018 till now type A, stable work agreement
- travelled a lot during those 8 years, once exchange studies lasted for >3 months

I have a question though, as I’m aware, while you wait for citizenship, it is not recommended to travel because then if you suddenly get a a decision, your permit will instantly expire. What should I do if they suddenly grant me a permit while I’m abroad? Can I still come back somehow? What the procedure would be then?
Your application has been moving pretty fast
East Asian, other info. exactly the same with you 2013 - 2017 on B, then A, married to Finnish national of same Asian background, both have office work and uni degrees, proved identity on 3.11.2020, place in queue 3090 as of today

Hey, so sorry that you have been waiting for so long... I've also been waiting for almost 12 months now. Are you already in Stage 2? and since when?
Nope... still stage 1.
Oh, so sorry. Have you already contact them? Maybe when they pass to stage 2 it'll be very quick. Did you check studyinfo to see if they checked your information?
Hi,
Could you explain what information does Migri check from studyinfo and how you can see if they checked your information?

Hey :) sure, it's quite easy. Just go to studyinfo, login with your bank codes or however you do it, then press your user name and go to "use of my information" -> actors who used my information and there you can see it.

Same for me I did the identity prove at 8.12 and my queue number is 3847, I have also noticed the queue number is reduced around 20 per day. I am from middle east.

Thanks for your explanation. I could check my degree obtained in Finland and also ongoing courses, but the section that shows which parties have checked my information does not show any information and gives error (the error says ''Tapahtui odottamaton virhe, emmekä juuri nyt pysty näyttämään tietoja.'')
I tried couple of times but it did not work. Probably the system has some sort of problem right now.

That's funny as I have similar situation except the nationality, I proved my identity on 4.11.2020 and my place on queue is now 3008. You should be a head of me, but here we are and I am head of you.

My own queue changes for the last about 3 weeks:

-11
-12
-9
-26
+4
-13
-27
-9
-9
-24
-8
-29
-17
+4

So already twice I had been pushed back. :D

Hi! I actually wrote before that I made a silly typo, the queue number is not 1760 but it was 3760. I just didn’t figure out how to use these old school forums and sent it as a totally separate message🙈 Today it’s been 3650, didn’t move from Friday.

Anyone knows if it does matter to apply for citizenship with Finnish or Swedish test?
I have a friend who took Swedish YKI test and then when he applied he got his decision in less than 3 months.
Are Swedish queue applicant is different from Finnish one? Or as there are less people applying with Swedish test their queue goes faster??

It wouldn’t be surprising if there were different queues based on the language used in the application. Applications in each respective language would be processed be their respective speakers.

Thank you for clarifying. I am going to repost my findings from the 2020 threads because I think some people might not have read it and I am pretty confident about my findings :)
So if you check this link https://statistics.migri.fi/#decisions/ ... ?start=611
and filter the graph by decisions for citizenship applications, you will see that Migri produced roughly 700 decisions last month (Jan 2021). Apparently they used to be more productive like last year October around 850 decisions, or April 2020 around 1000, and least productive during July 2020 (probably summer holiday) but still 400 applications were processed. That means a queue number of 3000 would translate to roughly around 3.5 months of further waiting, unless the processing of your application is stuck somewhere that requires further clarification :) If I recall correctly, when I proved my identity last November, my queue number was something 6000+ so I believe it has been moving up the queue as it should.

By the way when my partner received his decision, there was a name of the person who processed his application. After a quick googling, it turned out the officer had time living, traveling or overseas missions that is related to the region of the world that we are from (East Asia). That might suggest if there are more people of similar background with you in the queue, it would likely take more time to wait until your turn, and that also explains why some people already get their decisions while the queue number indicates it is not yet their turns. From previous posts by others, I have a strong feeling that the top 500 - 1000 applications in the queue are actually stuck applications so you might get your decision within a month if your queue number is in the range 1000 - 1700.

Nice analysis  One thing, the graphs still shows the data till 12/2020 nothing related to Jan 2021.

I suppose that the data for January 2021 will be shown probably at around 20th of February 2021.
