Hi all, I just got my decision! I applied on the 3rd of January this year, and my country is not on the list. My queue number in the beginning was 75xx and last Friday it was 44xx. In the past few weeks, the queue was moving by around 30-40 applications per day. It went into the second stage today, and I got the decision without any additional requests one hour later.

I came to Finland in 2014 as a student and since 2018, I've been having a work permit A.

Good luck everybody else waiting!

Congratulation! Do you have one of these extremely demanding jobs, such as nursing, or is it like that after this, you are obliged to participate in compulsory military service for Finland?

Congrats !!! Very interesting how migri is processing applications. The sterotype used by Migri does not have a name. How come people who has waited for over 15 months do not get decision while people who applied just in January 2022 are getting decision. This is not really fair 🤣🤣🤣

When you mentioned it, they will tell you every application varies. Unfair system

Me too! We've had almost the same path. Applied on Jan 3, came here as a student in 2015. Seemed like they have started to grant citizenship for those who have similar path and applied in early 2022. Good luck everyone!

I made a call to Megrim some days ago, asking them the status of my application. The response I got was that each application is treated differently, and it could take up to 2 years before decision from them. I then asked the officer on phone, on what grounds are those who submitted their applications in January 2022 already getting decisions in July 2022 (7 months) have over those who have been waiting for their applications to even be opened in anyway since over 17 months. She couldn't give an answer.

Well, I know the next step to take, since it's like those who are affected with this long delay have this nonchalant attitude in finding a resolution to their cases. To each man his own.

If you have proved your identity at a service point in 2020, we will start processing your citizenship application by 31 December 2022. Most of these applications can be decided within a few months, that is, in the spring 2023 at the latest.
Just one more year and everything be ok my guys
or not
If I applied in 2021 should I wait until spring 2024 then?
There are still backlogs in the processing of citizenship applications. Approximately 19,000 applications are waiting for processing.

We are currently processing citizenship applications submitted in 2020 and 2021, when the number of applications was exceptionally high. Last year, the number of citizenship applications increased by 25% from the previous year. This year, the number of citizenship applications is lower than recent years, which shows in the processing queue with a delay.
I still don't understand this. If they have applications pending from 2020 then why they do not proceed them? Instead of this they do applications from 2022. Just for what? Do they want to collect more negative mails and hate of the people?

I read before guesses, that they use also automatic processing of applications. This can probably explain, why some applications are chosen randomly. Well, I applied in November 2021, then my application moved to the stage 2 in July, after it - nothing for a month  I wonder, if anyone had longer than 3 weeks waiting time :(

And yes, this press release seems like a usual !"#¤%. They promised to hire new people for citizenship applications in 2021 when they released the similar bulletin. Really, why it requires so much time to look at clear cases, when all conditions are met. :beamer:
