Fixing hob gap

There is a gap between the hob and the surface, does anyone know how can I fix it? Is it a normal thing or a symptom of something bigger?

Thanks in advance :)

Looks like someone forgot silicone around the edges. Nothing more.

Imho that sits way too high. Is the gap same all around? Have you looked at the manual, it might have installation instructions?

We unfortunately don't have the manual anymore as it has been too long ago. When we first moved in (2 years ago), there was no gap, the gap only appears recently. The front side of the hob is still firmly attached to the surface.

This sounds like more than silicone missing now that you have provided more details. I would check online for an installation manual. Do you have a level? Is the hob level? If so, then check the countertop.
