Applied June 2022 and received decision 26.1.2023. This is my husband application and our children. Graduated as a chef and works as a chef too. From Asia (both of us).

I think my opinion who has the permanent residence permit those are waiting and investigating take longer for them otherwise those who get decision are behind the 4 years permits. Who has a four-year residence permit so they get decision before the permit ends then they don't have to apply for any permit.If there is no open permits in time application submitted,it will be a problem for both parties.

I think that is not the case I applied for citizenship when my 4 years permit was 11 months left and when 1 month left for my permit I applied for permanent they gave me permanent residence without giving me straight citizenship I think all these things depend on the case officer. Our applications are in the hands of difficult officers or maybe someone who is not in favor giving citizenship to foreigners


What is your queue number so far? I think you have been in second stage for very long already. I dont know what checking they are doing. Mine is still stage 1 and 19 months and counting

The queue is 123X . Second stage and never moves .I sent message them today said if you guys not asking me any requirement please realase the damm decision it has been 22 months.

I have realized that the calendar for migri service points in Helsinki is quite full for citizenship application. There is no time available before mid July already. So I am now considering if I can do it in Turku or Tampere instead, if it is possible and does not affect the process negatively.

It does not matter where you go for interview. Citizenship processing unit is based in Helsinki. So the city does not affect the processing time but the queue or case officer who you are assigned will determine how long your processing will take
