Hi everyone!
I have applied to the citizenship and proved my identity in the beginning of September and waiting for the decision. My queue number is around 40xx and now the indefinite waiting time scares me, which can be up to 2,5 years… Nevertheless, I read the forum sometimes and I see that probably if I haven’t received my decision in 5-6 months, I have to wait more than 16 months

Truly one of the dumbest things I've ever read on this forum or anywhere.
Great, even more ignorance...
Time for you to do some reading because you both clearly don't know the first thing about PS's policies.
https://www.perussuomalaiset.fi/kielisivu/in-english/
You could also read this if you have more attention span than a goldfish and know how to read an academic paper:
https://core.ac.uk/reader/220157040
In short, it says that every other party has declined to even discuss or mention the topic of immigration, leaving it solely up to PS to take up as a topic. In conclusion, it also served to create unfair prejudice toward the party as they basically got singled out for even daring to have opinions on immigration.
PS has been quoted by many popular politicians and journalists as the most left-wing party of the "non-socialist" parties. They are even strongly supportive of Finland's current 'welfare state' setup which I quite frankly totally opposite but with more than half the country getting payouts from Kela, there's little anyone can likely do to pull off those leeches. Speaking like one party is either "right or left" is some of the most ignorant crap ever. PS is economically as left as it gets, and the only reason it even gets called "right wing" is because it's a populist party. Which I doubt even half this forum would be able to say what that means without googling it.
Immigration is ONE of the party's policies and it is always highly blown out of proportion because it's the easiest way for the socialist swines to attack the party for being "racist" and "xenophobic" because it is the only party that dares say that our current immigration policy needs to change. Largely immigration is a complete lose case scenario for Finland. We already get tens of thousands of people moving here just from EU freedom of movement rights. Then there's thousands more who marry someone living here. Then there's the children those people all have. It makes perfect sense that we would need to at least think very carefully as an extremely tiny country compared to our neighbors, about the grounds in which we let people come here and if we can even in a humanitarian sense take responsibility of them without harming our duties to those who are already living and working here.
Has everyone already forgotten how Angela Merkel has completely run Germany into the dirt through completely laxative policies?
Helsinki is already packed. You guys think we should just terraform even more of the sea and make more man-made islands to build more high-rise apartments? Finland hasn't even bloody discussed the topic of immigration or changing any policies in over 20 years. It's high time something changed. If you need to import more people from overseas because things aren't working then you need to reevaluate the whole purpose and point of immigration but it isn't to prop a failing system up. Let's start using our brains.
Man, why do have so much bitterness in your heart bro ? All the insults and condescending remarks. I can’t even……

.
This guy is suffering from a mental unstability that does not have a name

. He is the one saying we cant wait for years for our citizenship and we complain a lot for waiting longer but he is here and comments about citizenship. If he is really patient he should never be here and just wait the day he gets his own. This channel is purely for citizenship forum but he is just purely showing how rude and homophobic he is.
PS: he needs to talk to psychotherapist I believe he really needs that

If I remember the stats correctly, it was something like, if it’s not received after 6 months, then in might be after 12, and then if not, after 16.
However I personally know a couple of people who got their citizenship after 8 months. So don’t despair!
Nobody still knows what the actual process is

Has anyone gotten a positive decision while their civil status in suomi.fi is "unknown"? If yes, how long did it take?
Do you think this will have an impact on processing time and should I resolve that before applying for citizenship?

In fact, many applicants get a decision in 6-8 months. As has been said before on this forum, if you didn't get it quickly, you were probably put in queue with an officer who works slowly. Who knows when he or she will have time to open it. But waiting times vary, that doesn't mean you can't get it in 12 or 14 months.

I've got civil status = unknown. Got positive decision in 18 months. I think it doesn't make any impact.

Queue numbers don’t mean a damn thing. You could get your decision like this week even. Nobody can tell

Thank you! Did your civil status then automatically change after you became a citizen of Finland (since Finland would now be an authoritative source of information about you)?

No, it's still "unknown". I'm not married and not in registered cohabitation, so I think it basically means that they don't have any info about my marriages.
If you are married it might be good idea to inform digi office about your status. If you are not, it doesn't make any sense.

Hahahah… They’re probably getting a lot of calls and emails from disgruntled customers who have already waited past the previously stated wait time. They are increasing that time as a form of disclaimer I guess. But relax guys. They process when they wanna process and it doesn’t really matter their stated times.
