Hi all, I am a non-EU citizen living and working in Spain and have a Finnish partner, and I’m planning to move to Finland by applying for a residence permit upon the basis of an intimate relationship.
I have a few questions, if anyone can clarify or have experience in the process I would be grateful.
1) I have bachelor degree and 6 year work experience in IT. When I check IT salaries in Finland it’s more than specified in the requirements(3473€/Monthly in migri website). Can I apply and start to work with this residence permit or should I also follow another process for work permit?
2) What do we need to proof our relationship? Just photos?
3) How much money I need to show in my bank account?

When applying for an RP on other ground on the basis of an intimate relationship, you are waiting 1 year for a decision.Mrztp wrote: ↑Wed Jul 26, 2023 12:28 pmHi all, I am a non-EU citizen living and working in Spain and have a Finnish partner, and I’m planning to move to Finland by applying for a residence permit upon the basis of an intimate relationship.

The residence permit for a specialist has a processing time of 2 weeks, and you can start working as specialist as soon as you applied.
Whatever you consider reasonable proof.
1000 Euro per month.

Thank you for your message.
But I’ll need a job offer to apply specialist RP, right? I don’t know how is IT market in Finland right now and I don’t speak Finnish. How difficult to find IT jobs in Finland?

Can start even before applying. In practise some employers might want to wait for the permit before investing in training a new employee.FinlandGirl wrote: ↑Mon Jul 31, 2023 6:49 pmThe residence permit for a specialist has a processing time of 2 weeks, and you can start working as specialist as soon as you applied.

Re: Intimate Relationship RP Work Rights
It depends on your skills.
Yes.
There are two cases:
If you can find an IT job in Finland, you should apply for the specialist RP.
If you cannot find an IT job in Finland, the RP on Other Grounds for an intimate relationship offers you the right to live in Finland from your savings without the right to work in Finland. In practice this RP only makes sense if you want to live together in Finland for some time first instead of marrying immediately. After marriage you can apply for an RP as spouse, which includes the right to work in Finland.
