Does anyone know how is the diary number constructed?
xxxx/xxx/xxxx

I have my number like
xx/310/2023

2023 is obviously year
310 I assume is a service point where I applied (in my case it is Helsinki)
xx is probably just sequence number among all applications in that particular year (and in that particular service point?). As far as I understand, this number is shared between all application types, not only citizenship applications.
I mean that 1/310/2023 might be citizenship application while 2/310/2023 might be RP application (or any other).

The most interesting part is the second part of the diary number.
Perhaps someone could share which numbers except 310 they have in the second part?

310 is the application type I guess. Because I also have 310,applied for citizenship in Tampere. So there is only one queue from all service points.

Thanks for the information.

The interesting part is that it seems like there is multiple queues under that 310 id.
I've checked multiple close diary numbers and the results are following:

x/310/2023 has a queue number of 3845 and the queue slider is in the middle.
x+1/310/2023 has a queue number of 5102 and the queue slider looks like the application is somewhere in the tail of the queue.
x+14/310/2023 has a queue number of 2065 and the queue slider looks like the application is somewhere in the tail of the queue.

So it feels like there is at least three independent queues. Perhaps each queue is for application on different grounds or something like that.

How is the application queue progressing for you all?

I applied approximately 2 months ago. In the initial month, it went from 6788 to 7155.

In the second month, it started decreasing from 7155 to 6756 (currently at #6756).

On average, it decreases by 18-20 per day on working days.

Hoping to get a decision between 5000-4500 queue, seems that's the sweet point! (my assumption)

I don't know what was my queue number in the beginning, but currently my queue moves for about 5-10 daily.
I applied on 02.01.2023 this year. My current place in queue is 3854.

Mine moves approx. 10-15 positions down everyday, never went up. Now around 2850, slider 3/4 close to the end. I applied last summer and was 71xx. For instance, all the queue numbers around mine ±3 have their decisions already, but x+10/310/2022 has queue number 18xx and slider is 1/5, close to the beginning. Blows my mind!

Once again, my assumption is as follows:

If you have completed and attached all the necessary documents, you will receive a decision in approximately 6 months, according to Migri. This implies that your application is in the queue somewhere between 4500 and 5000.

If you do not receive a decision within that queue range, it suggests that the processing might be slightly delayed, and we may have to wait longer for the decision.

I'm not sure about the exact reason behind this, but I suspect that your current citizenship plays a very important role here.

This is what I have understood, after reviewing numerous social media posts, experiences, and blogs related to the application process and decision-making.

I hope this information is helpful!

Contacted Migri recently - they explicitly told me there is no missing info from my side but still need to wait.
Stage 1, seventeen months already.

Hard to figure out what all the numbers mean (if anything). I applied August 2022, queue number was 72xx, now 31xx (has never gone up, always down). Have been sending additional info (trips outside Finland, new passport). Stage 1...

I don't know if Russia is in some list nowadays but I know a bunch of Russians (men and women) got their decisions much faster.

Based on my observation, individuals from Nepal, India, and Bangladesh receive relatively quick decisions (within 5-6 months).

P.S: I am Asian and mainly interact with people from Nepal, India, and Bangladesh, so I am not familiar with other nationalities.

Hello people!

Do you know how much time it usually takes to get the decision once the application has been started processing? So from Stage 2 to Stage 3.
I know that there are example for very long time being in stage 2, but in general.

Just for statistics:

Applied for citizenship on March 31. Having A permit for 4,5years, I have always been working in Finland. We applied with my son.
Our application was started processing on August 29, after 2,5h we got decision. So a couple of days less than 5 months.

Good luck to everyone!
