Has anyone exceeded his processing time without getting a decision 🤔. I mean my application processing time is 20 months. so should they give a decision before that, either positive or negative? if anyone has such an experience please share 🤗
I have been waiting for about 29 months and still stage 1 with queue number 2xx. When I sent them email, the same copy paste message telling me they have backlogs. I came here as student and working as senior engineer with high salary. I have never been on kela or any social fund. No criminal record and I have finn wife and kids. I am just waiting to let them do whatever they decide to do.
yes bro i have been following your posts, you are like the godfather of this group 😁. but if i may ask, when you applied how long was the processing time? i hope you get it soon 🙏🏻

Yes I am 😅😅 It was 6-13 months which double 😅😅

My queue number has just been bouncing up and down around the same position since last week, anyone else? So frustrating. I know I should just stop checking it for a while but it’s hard not to 😅

Hi

What do you think about the new proposed changes to the citizenship law, how would they affect our applications that were submitted into the system before the new possible changes in the law (for example, the period of residence)?

Also, it seems that Migri doesn’t really push forward for resolving the backlog, as the number of decisions they make per month is still lagging behind the number of applications, not saying that they have a backlog of the “old” applications from 2021 and 2022. So, if the number of decisions are not going to rise 2 times in the upcoming year, the backlog is going to continue, considering the numbers of the applications that would be rising

It looks like we are close to each other in the queue :)
I can confirm that during a couple of weeks there are days when my application queue does not change or even goes up by 1 position.
For example, today the queue number did not change.

I know that this can happen with new applications, but did not know that this may happen with old ones as well.

I think that these new rules may be applied both ways: only to new applications and to already submitted as well.
On the one hand, when we submitted our applications a clerk at migri kind of confirmed that our applications meet general citizenship rules. Thus, we were put in the processing queue and can expect that our applications will be processed according to the old rules.
On the other hand, when we submitted our applications a clerk just verified that the application is filled in correctly and the actual confirmation whether an application meets citizenship criteria will be done on stage 2. And at that point we may already have new laws in place.
Not sure how the second scenario would be applied if the application moved to the stage 2 some time ago and still in that stage.
Also, if migri goes with the second approach and many of our applications would be declined, then I think we could at least request a refund of application processing fee. Because when we applied it was based on the different laws.
Anyway, I hope that we won't have to deal with these problems and migri goes with the first scenario.

Agree, looks like application queue continue to grow over time and they are not keeping with its' pace.
That would not be a problem for everyone who have already applied if migri would process applications in the strict order.
Lets hope for the best and that migri will increase their processing speed :)

Guys, has anyone applied on 27.06.2023 or after and got a decision on the citizenship application? My application has been on step 2 (in progress) for 9 days and the queue is moving quite slowly. How long for others was the application on step 2 before the decision?

Hi,

I am wondering if anyone who submitted their citizenship application after June 19th, 2023 got a decision from Migri. It seems that many people who applied in spring this year got their decisions quite fast. Thank you for your insights on this!
Hey, I am also wondering the same, applied on June 27th and still waiting for the decision. Have you heard anything yet? And what's the queue number for you atm?

Current queue: 53xx, Lahti service point.

Could you please share your queue number and service point visit?

starting to feel really discriminated by migri for not processing my application. it has been more than 13 month wait for me and no news what so ever. there are people here waiting for more than 2 years, and migri is processing applications from this july already. btw i feel happy for people who got their decision in 6 month, because that is how it should be! migri is the most unsystematic organization i have know in my life...

I, too, am giggling when I read that people who applied this spring/summer are going crazy waiting. Had I known, I would have waited until this spring instead of applying in August 2022.
