August, 30 and identity check on 1.9.2022 - number is 78xx
You should receive the decision before 1st August as it will mark 23 months waiting for you.
I really hope you get it sooner, like this month. I applied not so long after you.
Well, let’s hope so, but this is kinda gloomy thing… I was thinking of applying again and hoping for the automatic processing if that’s possible
I understand where you're coming from (I applied in August 2022 and am still waiting for processing). I'm fairly confident that you and I will have our decisions within the next little while. IMHO, you would be throwing your money away if you were to reapply in the hope of getting a quick decision through automated processing. I also wonder if you would be able to submit another citizenship application while your current one is still pending.

Hello everyone,

I have applied at the end of March 2024 and my queue number starts with 6xxx, and the diary number starts with 26xx/. Am in the long queue? :(
What I heard from people is that if the queue number starts with 6xxx, it is for the refugee queue. The refugee queue is slow and takes more time than others. My friend queue number that starts with 6xxx; she is a refugee. We applied at almost the same time, but mine started with 8xxx.

it is called the API system (Advanced Passenger Information), you can google it. I has your name, sex, nationality and other information about you, and it is submitted by all airlines to the authorities for each flight.
well I just did online check in for a Helsinki-Stockholm flight and have my boarding pass but the airline only has my name and contact phone. There was no request for nationality or passport info, unlike when doing online check in for the UK or USA (two countries which use API). When I board the plane I will show the boarding pass barcode to the gate reader. Nobody will check my passport.

What if you travel by train inside schengen? you don't even provide your name, let alone passport details. The same for driving or walking across the border.
You cannot book a flight without your date of birth, which is connected to your social security number in all EU counties.

When you check-in and board your flight in Schengen area, the airline company have to share the passengers data with the board guards, and they receive a confirmation before they are allowed to travel. if migri suspects anything they can easily access that data. bottom line is that you can't be living in germany and pretend to be in finland.
Such a process inside Schengen does not exist. If you disagree, provide a source reference.
Easily bro, it is called the API system (Advanced Passenger Information), you can google it. I has your name, sex, nationality and other information about you, and it is submitted by all airlines to the authorities for each flight. You are mixing between the border checks inside the Schengen area and the API. Even if you are traveling inside the same country, authorities know who is on the airplane. So my point is if authorities suspect anything about you, they can check you traveling history...
Is it possible to search this database and see your own travel information so if you don't remember everything you can confirm this way?

If the database existed, one would have a GDPR based right to inspect personal data.

I just tested Finnair booking HEL - STO and date of birth is not required. The only required fields are:
  • Gender
  • First name
  • Family name
  • Phone prefix
  • Phone number
For example, the Dutch BSN does not derive from date of birth.

I'm routinely booking flights for three passengers (one british, 2x finnish) and only the gender and name of each passenger is needed. I give just one phone number for the whole booking.

I think you need to consider that there is a difference between the information that individual airlines request and what authorities require. Finnair did not ask for my date of birth for HEL-ARN. They do ask for it (along with passport #) if I checkin for HEL-LHR.

Hello! Joining the journey to citizenship just now. I was wondering if anybody has experience with the automated decision making of citizenship. What was their experience like? How long did it took? Thanks

Don't they ask you more info when you check in?

Yes, they ask what seat you want and if you are aware of the dangerous items you must not pack in your luggage.

If you do online check in then you do not supply passport / ID details and receive a boarding pass with a barcode which you can print out. At the airport you do not have any human interaction (at least yesterday when flying HEL-ARN) and show the code at the gate for security and at the gate for boarding the plane. I did have my passport in my bag but never got it out to show anyone. I could have given the printout to anybody and they could have flown to Stockholm.

Now Oikeuskansleri has at least 3 decision on the complaints about citizenship application backlog from April this month and all of them look that Migri doesn’t fulfill the requirements stated by the law 😂

If a positive decision can be made automatically, it takes less than 5 minutes.

If a positive decision cannot be made automatically, everything stays the same as before.

5 minutes from when? From the moment one pays and submit the application?

Has anyone who applied in December 2023 received their decision already?
