I am not a refugee and I got my permanent residence permit based on work recently.gulbeseker wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2024 9:57 amWhy are you getting mad? It’s possible that people who has a work/student resident permit can apply later to asylum. And usually refugee’s applications take longer thats why i just asked))
I myself asked Migri why it is taking so long, even more than 23months, but they just give the generic reply.
I’m really sorry you’ve been in this uncertainty quagmire for such an enormously long time. And they approved your application for permanent residency and are now telling you, a permanent resident, that they expect your application for citizenship will take 7 months more than their current longest estimated processing time of 23 months. Moreover, that longest estimated processing time had to have gone up at least 7 months since you actually applied, because I know that in February 2023 the estimated processing time according to MIGRI’s Processing Time Checker was 7-16 months.
Hang in there!!!
Re: Applying for Citizenship 2024
Thank you. Yes, the maximum time keeps going up since I applied, it was 14 months back then.Boston_MA wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2024 2:09 pmNo_doo wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2024 12:53 pmOk. My apologies. I dunno why they placed it in the longest queue. And the funny thing that I got my permanent residence permit in 1 day. So I went for the verification at Migri, then the following day they granted it. So it is very random.
Best of luck for you too

What's your diary number or just first two numbers? I am asking because I have similar background like you and trying to figure out if I am in the same queueNo_doo wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2024 2:49 pmThank you. Re: Applying for Citizenship 2024
Hello guys, I’m also awaiting my application since October 2022. My queue in April when Kamubot was still working was 1,937.

Re: Applying for Citizenship 2024
The date when you visit Migri matters, not when you apply, and in case you dont have to visit due to strong authentication what matters is the date when you get diary number.phungxuanton wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2024 2:05 pmThanks, when did you apply, was it also around mid December?curiousan wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2024 1:01 pmThanks for update. Re: Applying for Citizenship 2024
I am thinking about the citizenship related complaints handled by the Oikeuskansleri. The last few (e.g.) indicate that migri is to share more information about the processing of the applications by 20.9.
Does anyone have an educated guess of where that information might be made (or already is) available?
sittelyaikojen lyhentämiseksi on mahdollisesti suunniteltu.

Does anyone else miss Kamu? It will be 4 months soon without being able to check our queue position
