Dear everyone,
I am wondering about filling the application form. There is a question "Olen tehnyt muuttoilmoituksen Suomen viranomaisille kaikista muutoistani Suomessa tai Suomesta ulkomaille." Does anyone know exactly what this means? I just checked my application again and saw that I answered "No" for this question 🤐.
I hope this will not impact the processing time.
Good luck to everyone.
Anyone who moves to another address in Finland is legally required to report the move to the authorities. The same applies if a resident of Finland moves abroad. They are also legally required to report the move to the Finnish authorities.

The intent behind the question is to determine if you are meeting/have met your reporting requirements.

Yeah this is about moving to live somewhere else. Not travelling.

If you answered no, they might ask you more about that. Let’s see. Update us how it goes.

Thank you ones who answered my concern about that question. I'll give update when it's available.

By the way, it seems quiet recently, is there anyone receiving decision with diary number after 15th?

Good luck everyone,

November 2022 here. I recently contacted Migri that gave me an estimate of 24 months, so I should get an update in the next weeks.

Just a minute, I've been waiting since August 2022, and there are also people in this group who have been waiting since February 2022 😉😁

I'm the Jan 2023 person and no, I'm from western Europe and fully documented etc. No idea why it's taking so long.
(Sorry I just noticed you were only asking the 28+ months people! But I still feel 21 months so far is ridiculously long in my case...)

applied March 2023 here, interview in April of the same year, which I still feel is ridiculously long. I'm from the UK, have permanent residence status since 2021 and full time job, no crimes, fines or requests for exemptions.

I'm the same, waiting 24 months, from EU, no missing documents or requirements issues. But I am self employed and travel often for work (well within the required limits). After lot of reading in this forum I understood that there are different baskets even into the same queue.

9-25 months group:
Very straightforward applications are processed fast as they can be done mostly automatically and by any employee, starting 9 months after application. These are then people that applied in January 24 and getting answers already.
Applications that are "normal" but with something to be checked (like mine - they want to check the trips) go into a slower queues as only a limited number of employees can check them (max 25 months wait at the moment).

Up to 30 months group:
Applications of people that came to Finland without permit in advance, have no passport, are refugees, or very peculiar cases waiting for specific documents. Maybe even less employees have the qualifications to process these so they need more time.

Copy pasting some things people wrote in the past in here (I saved useful infos in a file while reading):

"Recently I wrote an email asking about the different baskets/queues and the process of applications, staff mentioned in the reply that there are different baskets, and applications are assigned to different baskets depending on how much clarification and consideration the application requires with the help of automated check."

"When a person assigned to a "long queue", they are assigned to a specific Senior employer. There are only several of these Senior employers, so our waiting time is very long. But some employers work faster, some go on vacation (and then the whole queue is on pause). Cases do not go from one employer to another."

Only senior employees can make a negative decision apparently.

Is it fair they they do this withouth transparency and without following the cronological order of applications with the same grounds? No.
Is there something we can do about it? Also no. :(

I did not write to the general group, but I answer your question, I came here with a civilian passport from my country, but I did not have an invitation and received refugee status on the basis of this, I requested an application for citizenship. And what was your status when you applied for citizenship?

I am really so tired of this question. We are all waiting and no one of us knows on what basis does Migri process our applications.
This is the last time I am gonna mention this here, because I am fed up with these assumptions.

I came here with a passport and I still have my national passport, of course I renewed it when it was the time. Also I came with a student residence permit B, and then I changed it to A when I found work after my graduation.

To cut the story short, I am not a refugee, and I have a national passport and my country is not on the list or whatever it is called.

Does migri assign us to long queues? YES
On which basis? I DUNNO and if I knew, I would have let everyone here know as well.

Please don't make the assumptions that people are refugrees of what so ever. The waiting is stressful and terrible and no one knows why do they assign us to long queues, even though we think that our applications are straightforward. So no one knows! Even I went to a lawyer and they have checked my application, all what they could say is wait and wait. And I have asked migri employee when I visited to renew my residence permit, they have checked my application and said that everything is in order and I have to wait. So please, everyone here wait and don't make assumptions about others.

Good luck everyone and wishing speedy decision for everyone!

''hese are then people that applied in January 24 and getting answers already.'' Where did you find that info that, those with diary on 24/01/2024 got decision already. The latest one who posted it here getting decision is on 17/01/2024?
