Yes, an email came as an automatic decision. However, it was put into process on January 21. I think they made the automatic decision based on the date I would return after seeing that I was out of the country.

That’s actually strange since Migri have it published on their webpage. Nobody knows how they operate.

Based on what I've seen on this forum it could be anywhere from several minutes to months.

Mine went to in progress and its been 4 weeks that i am stuck in 'in progress'. my diary number started with 7** and i applied in january 2024, still waiting for my decision

That’s great at least it’s in progress now! I applied in January too, diary number is 6**, but I guess the fact that I don’t have a job and my country is on that list the algorithm is treating me accordingly, even though neither of those were officially mentioned anywhere by migri when I applied. I’m not stressing about it though, it’s only a matter of time and my priority at the moment is to get a job. I hope you get a positive decision soon!

I have received my citizenship today. Here is the timeline for reference. But first, this group has helped me a lot without even needing to be an active contributor. To everyone in this group, THANK YOU!
Timeline:
4.6.2024: YKI result - Passed all sections
10.6.2024: Submitted application with minor kid
19.6.2024: Visited Migri, got diary number (58XX)
25.1.2025: My first follow-up email to Migri as I completed seven months of waiting. Got precise reply asking me to wait for another two months- Migri kept their words.
12.3.2025: Received positive decision for self and dependents. Exactly within 9 months as informed by Migri.

Previous nationality: South Asian
Came to Finland: 2015
PR since: 2020
Profile: IT
I was never unemployed. No fines/tickets/crime record either. Non-EU spouse. Not automated decision

Surprisingly, this week seemed quite productive for Migri.
My application moved for about 50 positions, while the week before it moved for only 5 positions.

Hi, I have a similar situation, my application is stuck for 5 months in progress, no additional request. I am not sure what is the maximum time application can be in process.
