Hi! I wonder if stopping being an entrepreneur is going to be of any help with speeding up the application, or do they put cases into the buckets only once, when you apply?

In my case, I co-founded a company which is no longer active, but still legally exists, but I am afraid that makes me an entrepreneur and makes the wait longer. (I’ve been waiting for a year now.)

Not trying to be mean, but if you have been waiting for over a year, I think you have the answer already. My guess is if there are self-employed data/documents to be checked, it will be in the long queue.

Today one person from 27.06 got decision

Many people I guess. I got my dairy number on 25.06.24 and still no progress.
There are many factors which influenced when migri starts to process the application, not only the date when you get a diary number.

Good evening, comrades, I wanted to share the good news that we have received citizenship today.
I submitted the application with the children on 13.08.2022,
on 07.03.2024 it moved to the second stage, processing, and today
on 12.03.2024 we received a positive decision. I waited a total of 31 months without one day.
And my wife filed separately with the children on 05/05/2023 and together with us she received a positive decision today. her wait was 22 months. It was a very long and tedious waiting period, but it's all over. I wish all applicants patience and a good decision.

I applied for the citizenship on Sunday, and according to EnterFinland I don't need to visit the service point because they already have all the information. However I still do not have a diary number, is it expected that the diary number will be generated later? I was thinking in cases that you don't have to go to the service center, the diary number is generated immediately.

Usually people recieve decision in just few hours or one two days. I do not really know why? are they on vacation now?

This is normal, not everyone gets the decision immediately, especially when it's not an automated decision. It can sometimes take a few weeks for whatever internal reasons at Migri. Could also take more time if they need to request additional information.

Background: non-EU, came as a student in August 2019 with a B permit, and then worked full-time since March 2020 with an A permit. Four years of residence were enough in my case because I learned Finnish faster.

Does it necessarily mean if you didn't get a positive decision for the citizenship application within 9 months that you will have to wait the full range of 31 months? Can someone gets the decision after 14 or 15 ...etc months?

Is there any requirement to be in Finland when the citizenship decision is made? Would I run into any issues if I'm away exactly when the decision is made on my application?
The travel form on EnterFinland doesn't accept dates in the future so it can be updated only after the travel is finished. If I'm traveling do I still need to inform migri directly via email or some other way?

Processing times can vary. If you're an entrepreneur, things tend to take longer. My application did not go into processing until 23 months after submission.
