Military service preventing passport application

Hi! Does anyone have experience applying for a passport while eligible for military service at age 28 or older? My service starts in July, passport expired end of last year, and they are not issuing me a new passport without a "proof of no impediment". It looks like one such proof is a clearance certificate given by a military authority, which is pretty vague (https://um.fi/passport-application-by-p ... ry-service). Does anyone have experience getting one of those? I intend to do the service, so this is basically just an inconvenience for the next 6 months, impeding work travel and so on.

Yes, in Finland you’ll need a military clearance certificate (esteettömyystodistus) from your regional draft board to get a passport if you're 28+, even if you intend to serve—contact your local military authority (aluetoimisto) to request it; processing is usually quick.
