You should goto the Vallila market on sturenkatu. it's on every sunday from 8-3pm. trams 3 and 1 go really close by. it's basically this great big brick warehouse where people goto sell their unwanted stuff. i was there yesterday and was blown away by the scale of the market (hundreds upon hundreds of people and maybe 200 tables) and the immense amount of useless and useful junk people were trying to hawk. you'll find yer sofa and tv there and a lot more..... be warned, i personally found it to be a rather overwhelming experience.
