Has anyone who applied for citizenship had a child before their decision was made? And if yes ,what are the steps that you took to add the child to your application . Did you get the child a passport from your current country and apply for a resident permit before adding the child to your application?

1.5 weeks since people have been able to check queue positions... Have the OGs here experienced this before?

Yep. I applied Jan 2023 and remember one time when Kamu was down for like a month (can’t remember exactly how long it was but it felt like ages). They kept posting updates saying what date Kamu would be back, and then the date kept changing

Who knows how long it will take this time.

But Kamu is not down at this time. It's just they have removed or paused that feature of queue as of now. It is possible they would not add it anytime soon also.

Meanwhile, all over their website it still says that you can check queue by using Kamu...
Very bad look IMO.

I am happy to announce that I, along with my 2 year old son, got the citizenship decision today! To be honest i really wasn't expecting such a speedy decision. I applied on 13.11.2023 and my diary number started from 143xx. I noticed today that I got an email saying that processing of my application has started and then 10 minutes later I got the decision. So it was quite a smooth process for me. I hope it is the same for all of the applicants, and hopefully you all get your positive decisions soon.

It is acceptable. They haven't removed the feature permanently. There is a notification on the front page that there are technical issues at the moment and it is not available at the moment. This is correct way of handling it. Once, it is fixed, they will post another update. Because you are frustrated with Migri, you don't have to target them. The procedure for downtime/unavailability handling is correct.
Actually, it does not specify this issue on their front page - only other technical issues. Nice to know that bad information is acceptable for you though

My one suggestion is that they will in the future require to Enter the diary number along with customer number or the applicant last name to check the queue number of the application to cover a possible breach of privacy when checking queue number.
Because using only the diary number to check the queue number of an application is posing a big risk of privacy breach. Anyone can check the queue number of any application by typing a random diary number. So I think the next update is requiring to type both diary number and customer number or applicant last name

Read before you write. Go to
https://migri.fi/ then scroll down little bit, under Haluan Hakea, you will see 20.5.2024
Teknisiä ongelmia Kamu chatbotissa, then click on it. Then you will see "Neuvontapalvelumme ei voi kertoa hakemuksesi jonopaikkaa......."
There is no bad information, there are people who are lacking basic reading skills.
I'm referring to the Enterfinland page, where you actually check the queue position, Mr. Excellent Reader.

Dear

,
Since you put your signature at the end of your message.
Enterfinland is not the official Migri site for such notifications/announcements.
If EnterFinland itself has technical issues, they also announce it in there. Kamu chatbot is an add-on there.
If you still have challenges to understand, go back to your

.
Herra Uskomaton Intelligent Being,
There are technical issues which are also listed on the EnterFinland site. However, this technical issue is not listed there. Again, that is specifically the place where one actually checks the queue positioning.
It is bad information if the website in question advertises possibilities to check one's positioning without an actual possibility to do so,

Hi all. I've been following this forum for a long time, but I never posted anything. However, I finally received my citizenship and I just wanted to create an account to give you all a very big thank you. The information and the discussions that you've provided in this forum have been extremely helpful, and it also really helped my mental health a to know that I'm not the only one going through this difficult waiting time and I'm not alone.
Also a special thank you to just_passing_by for providing that data every week. It was immensely helpful to calculate when I would arrive at the "sweet spot" and prepare myself for it. As you are all aware, the worst thing is the "unknown", as the lack information and not knowing what to expect can really drive someone crazy. The information that you provided really helped that. So thank you.
I will drop some information about my application to help you all with the info.
Visited the service point in mid November 2023.
Got the diary number 14xxx.
Queue number at the time of application was about 8xxx.
Don't know the queue number at the time receiving the decision because Kamu isn't working.
Home country not on the list.
I hope you all get your decisions soon!
