officially 6 month in stage 2 :(
i am beginning to believe that they will refuse my application. i mean there is no requests for extra info, and when i sent them an email if there is something wrong, they just replied to wait. Idk if anyone had been so long in stage 2 like me...

Hallo everyone
Can anybody help me with some information about my situation:

I’ve been waiting for decision about my residence permit extension from migri for almost 4 months
In the meantime I’ve booked hotel for a vacation
I know I can’t leave finland until i get the decision, but can i travel when i get the positive decision but without my permit card, can I travel with printed decision?

Hi,
Why you are becoming pessimistic?
Do you formally comply to the requirements or there is something at the edge?
Otherwise what would be a reason for rejection?

thanks for the message! i am becoming pessimistic because my application was supposed to be straight forward. came here 10 years ago, did my phd and have been working and country is not on the list. if it was stage 1 i really wont be anxious about it. but 6 month stage 2, what are they checking 🥲

If your child is in foster family, does it affect the citizenship application?

I guess I was one of the lucky ones. I applied for a residence permit extension and it was processed and approved within 24 hours. After that, I think it took a week or so to receive the printed residence card.

When are you planning to travel? If it's not for a couple of months yet, your application might be processed by then. Not sure about trying to re-enter Finland with just a hardcopy of the decision. A card can be swiped to verify authenticity, whereas a hardcopy could easily be photoshopped.

Congratulations on your PR!

I will become eligible in February 2024, which is still more than three months away. If I receive PR soon, I won't be concerned and will allow them to process it for a few more years.

Could you please provide some details about the current PR processing time?
Thanks for the congrats! I applied on the basis of work, for me the processing took slightly less than 6 months (although I’ve been promised 12-14 months), they haven’t requested any additional documentation, just opened the application and approved it within 40 minutes. I know people from my work who got the PR within 5 months and also the ones that have been waiting for the whole year. This is about everything I know:)

Really tough question to answer. Maybe someone here with more experience knows more?

Welcome to the forum, by the way.

Wow! That is the longest time I've seen so far.
May I ask what is your queue number?

Previously I did a small research based on the publicly available data and tried to keep track of applications which change their statuses.
Based on that research, migri mostly processes applications which have either queue number from 0 to ~600 OR from ~4000 to ~5600.
So I hope that you will get your application processed really soon :)

Of course I have only access to publicly available data and I had to do some assumptions.

Interesting!😀😀 What are your sources for the publicly available data?
