Not saying this is the rule for everyone, but it certainly doesn't help things.
Myyrmäki was the first occasion that the involvement of WEB Internet news groups, bulletin boards, started the politicians crying for "censorship".

The Social Democrats seized the opportunity to intensify efforts to censor Internet news groups, bulletin boards and websites.
The fact that the police interviewed Matti Saari at least shows that they are "watching us".

Not only is this Starving Ego bloke completely cuckoo when it comes to the necessary cranial functions to sustain human life-experience as we know it, he also emerges with clock-like regularity (almost in the manner of Murnau's Nosferatu from his coffin come to think of it - both of them one-track-minds par excellence) whenever there is the slightest chance to spot a conspiracy involving evil mind control technology and, what's more important, a Satanic black trench coat.Pursuivant wrote:were you there listening?starviego wrote:blah blah blah badger's ar$e blah blah drivel blah

This has now appeared.
A full wikipedia article.
Note it seems to agree with Pursuivant that the 0.22 WPP is only suitable for "training" and not much use as a "sports" gun.

Think this possibility. Hunting facilities are rarely in heavily populated areas. They are, by nature, bit remote.
Think what kind of targets they would be for burglars if they were loaded with weaponry... Closest police might be good 20 minutes or more away even if there was remote alarm system.
Also, all hunting does not take place with rifles. Rabbits for example (hate how they eat all berry bushes... damn long eared buggers) are hunted with shotguns.
Granted, shotgun has far inferior range compared to rifle. But damage it can cause at short range, and area to which it can spread the damage are much worse. Such guns could not be kept at any club facility.
There is also issue of visitor hunters.

I am not talking about piece of paper which asks if I would paint flowers if I were a painter or if my career plans have included profession of florist.kay30 wrote:But even if you did have psychological testing, wouldn't most people (barring the exceptionally mentally ill) figure out what the Army (or whomever) wanted to hear and answer as such? I mean, if he could hide it well enough from the police the day before he snapped, I doubt that he would fill out the questionnaire (or whatever) honestly. And from what I understand, he had been planning it since 2002! 6+ years and no one noticed/did a thing. And that is the really scary thing.
I am speaking of real, human being who talks to them. There is already prelimenary checkup with doctor and good while used at filling that piece of paper.
Replace paper with few psychologists doing general psychological evaluation instead of just "cross the correct answer" A4.

So he was sent back home from the army. That should have told something to the police who granted him the gun permit. And those who let him keep it after the interview and YouTube.

Just to be precise the gun was http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walther_P22 with 10 rounds in mag.sinikettu wrote: This is Matti's gun..

I saw one of the early web/blogs of his (now removed) and it was a photo captioned.
"me and my PP" yes in English.
The PP's cartridge has two options one of which is.0.22LR.
It is classified as "semi automatic". But it can empty, at a target it*s magazine (8 rounds) in about 7 seconds.
