And while I don't think the web is to blame, it certainly puts people who are unstable to begin with in a more frightening spot. Meaning 1) they have access to all kinds of people/materials instantly that would take them far, far longer to find on their own 2) it provides them a platform for instant "fame" 3) it keeps them out of society and makes the computer their primary contact. Not saying this is the rule for everyone, but it certainly doesn't help things.

Think this possibility. Hunting facilities are rarely in heavily populated areas. They are, by nature, bit remote.

Think what kind of targets they would be for burglars if they were loaded with weaponry... Closest police might be good 20 minutes or more away even if there was remote alarm system.

Also, all hunting does not take place with rifles. Rabbits for example (hate how they eat all berry bushes... damn long eared buggers) are hunted with shotguns.

Granted, shotgun has far inferior range compared to rifle. But damage it can cause at short range, and area to which it can spread the damage are much worse. Such guns could not be kept at any club facility.

There is also issue of visitor hunters.

But even if you did have psychological testing, wouldn't most people (barring the exceptionally mentally ill) figure out what the Army (or whomever) wanted to hear and answer as such? I mean, if he could hide it well enough from the police the day before he snapped, I doubt that he would fill out the questionnaire (or whatever) honestly. And from what I understand, he had been planning it since 2002! 6+ years and no one noticed/did a thing. And that is the really scary thing.

I am not talking about piece of paper which asks if I would paint flowers if I were a painter or if my career plans have included profession of florist.

I am speaking of real, human being who talks to them. There is already prelimenary checkup with doctor and good while used at filling that piece of paper.

Replace paper with few psychologists doing general psychological evaluation instead of just "cross the correct answer" A4.

It is classified as "semi automatic". But it can empty, at a target it*s magazine (8 rounds) in about 7 seconds.
