Congratulations to everyone who have finally received their decision this week! I was about to be among you, but I received a supplement request instead of the decision.

Now it got me worried that the supplement request was about the time I had a toiminimi (for a very short time though) a few years ago. Would being a toiminimi in the past 5 years affect the waiting time I wonder? Until now, I've been waiting for 9,5 months.

Can anyone who applied early 07/2024 share the first digits of the diary number. I have diary 68XX. I wonder why the number is so large if I assume it is a "queue number" considering people have had 56XX since mid-June and early-June 54XX.

My guess would be the YKI Testi. Hundreds of people apply right after they pass it, and for the one I took results were sent out in late June. The previous one was a month prior to that. I have applied 27.06 and my number is already 64XX, probably because I only applied a few days after I got the results. Also, I expect there might have been surges of applications whenever news about the new citizenship law were coming out.

Hello everyone,

It is my time to share the good news. Here is some information:
- Applied and identified myself on 13.06.2022
- Application moved to stage 2 on 14.01.2025
- Positive decision on 14.01.2025 after 1.5 hrs with no additional requests has been made. So it took 31 month and 1 day. My application was up-to-date. Like I renewed my home country passport and did some travelling in between, so I kept my application updated. So they didn’t ask for any additional documents during the processing.

Some background information:
- I came to Finland in 2017 as a student, so I had B residence permit, did some part time jobs until I graduated and then switched to A “work-based permit” after graduation.

- Applied for the permanent residence permit in 2024 and got it on the following day. The officer told me that it would take 9-13 months, but I got it on the following day.

- I am not a refugee, with all respect to fellow refugees. No criminal record, nothing at all. So I decided to take a break from the forum and read in silence because some folks used to question a lot or accuse me of having something hidden. It was mentally draining.

Overall, I have no idea why migri placed me in the longest queue. And it was frustrating everytime they prolonged the waiting time. I messaged them back in 2023 and they told that my application will take the longest processing time back then “I don’t remember”. So it did.

I messaged them again in November 2024, when it was 29 months since I applied, and they said that they will process it in a month. So I emailed them again in December 2024, and they promised again that it will be processed in a month and apologised for the long waiting. But the Christmas and new year holidays have stretched the processing time. But now it came!

The long processing time is mentally exhausting, and terrible. I feel happy for the positive decision but also sad that I had to face this unreasonably long waiting time. I do understand how does it feel to wait for 31 months.

To all fellow 2022 applicants, please take care of your mental health, and I hope that everyone here gets a positive decision soon. This forum has helped me a lot in many ways, from being updated with the information to discussing the implementations of the new citizenship laws. Thanks for 2022 members who were chatting with me from time to time as well. I have been a senior member in this forum 😎

- Side note: if they tell you that your application will take x amount of time to be processed, believe them and forget about your application. This is what happened with me. I might be wrong too. As said, the process was mentally draining, but I was surrounded by good people and friends who always told me not to worry and calmed me down. I am grateful for them!

To everyone waiting, please live your life and try to forget about your application. I fully understand the stress and everything associated with waiting, and I wish the best for everyone here.

Thank you and God bless 🙏
Wow, this is very good news, and I sincerely congratulate you. Your patience has paid off. of course, it's all very nervous, but the main thing is the result. based on your result, I understand that I still have to wait at least 2 months. I submitted on August 13, 2022. Congratulations again.
Thank you, buddy! I really wish you get your decision soon. If on my scale, then it will come in two months. Hang on there, you have done most of the waiting.

The problem lies on your residency. You said you came to Finland in 2017 with B permit, and you applied for citizenship in 2022, so I do not think the residency time is enough when you submit the application and that is why you were put in the longest queue.

because 2B is counted as 1A. and a person needs to have 4A at least to apply for citizenship. From 2017 to 2022, it is only 5 years and you said you got permit with B study in the beginning and that is why.

It is reasonable. But I am happy for you that you did not get rejected in the beginning and happy that you got the positive for now. but yes, it sounds making sense for me.
No you still can apply if you have 2B and 3A which sum up to 4A. This is how I applied and received my citizenship in 6 months. I even applied 3 months before completing 4A(2B+3A) residence period.
Thank you for explaining this on my behalf. And yup, I had no problem with the residence period as two years B count as 1 then others were A. You can combine the period of residence according to the law when I applied. I dunno if it has changed now.

You might have to disclose this information. Read what they asked in the citezenship form. If you had to payslips from 2 years ago, and you didn't, you better to appologize and attach it now, and maybe wait longer, otherwise, you might get in trouble.

Hi, I have applied for citizenship in June and I am employed full time. So I submitted the right documents for work and income. Only recently I started to rent out my home, and so how do I inform Migri of my rental income? It is a 1 year long rental contract. I regularly pay the tax as well.

Is it a freeform document with the rental contract?

You got it wrong, my 2 years payslips are not from toiminimi, I closed it 4 years ago.

You don't understand. I don't care about your paysplips etc. What you need is to read what they ask in the requirements and supply information about that. If you don't do like that fully, they may cancel your citezenship after giving it- they mention about that explicitly.

hi, I lost interest to continue discussion, don't want to examine deeply what you asked. The whole thing about assumption is just what you said (assumed), I here just tried to provide information and whoever who read can see if that is useful.
