I've been considering moving to Finland for some months now, and I found the very interesting website in French ranska.net. Someone mentioned this one on their forum and I thought extra info never hurts. I'm moving in September, I was a little nervous about it, but it feels good discovering many people did it successfully before :D

I was searching for an expats' forum in Finland specifically - that kind of places are full of information but sometimes not extremely easy to find, I remember ending up in some dead place. There was a google link to Finland.org, it turned out to be the embassy site, but there was the banner (or was it a link? Can't remember) to finlandforum:)

I took the plunge and started to learn Finnish recently as my (finn) girlfriend and I are thinking of moving to Helsinki sometime in the next couple of years. So I started using the finnishschool.com vocab trainer as part of my learning and found my way over to finland forum from there...

Finding the forum

Post by Wasted Youth » Tue Feb 20, 2007 12:45 pm

http://www.expat-finland.com/

Was looking for a forum to get some advice on moving to Finland from Scotland and clicked through from the above page. Original search was 'expats Finland' in Google.

finding a guide in Finland real estate

Post by anikaperez » Thu Mar 08, 2007 3:09 am

I saw this forum among other european forums because I'm real estate student and journalist as well as future investor.

In other words, I've been out seeking opinions and stories from people who have been there and done that as well as those who are willing to learn just like me.

:D

My wife is finnish and we were in Rauma last week when my wife was trying to explain to her mum what butternut squash was (a la jamie oliver!).I googled it and finland to see if it could be bought there and ended up on the forum on a thread started by raumagal (irony) discussing same.
Hence we got to know about the forum --- strange but true. :?

From another Forum, SwedenForum.NL, then to Finland Forum.nl then the English version. I use all. It has some good points.

The Moozzz accidentally let slip that this place exists, and I beat the rest out of her.
