i've just found out this link http://www.credo.fi/lastenmaa/sadut/valmiitsadut.htm
they are short tales for kids in finnish, divided into two sections: the second section includes stories you can read and listen to at the same time :)
a nice exercise, also helps for the pronounciation of some simple words and intonation of phrases.
well, at least i found it useful

My history teacher at school was a very smart man. Despite all his experience and qualifications, when he started learning a new area he would always read a child's book on the subject before reading the "serious" books. As I get older I start to realise how good this approach is :o Thank you for the link!

That's a really nice site!
I like the sections on birds and wild animals.

This will be really helpful since it's where I'm having the most difficulty. Then again, I'm finding almost everything in Suomi 1D pretty confusing at this point.
The test for this semester is 26.4 and I'm at a bit of an impasse. It's been a while since I've studied a language and until recently I wasn't as adept at note taking. I'd copy either everything or not enough & I think I've missed some essential information. To try and make sense of my notes now will probably take longer then I have left to study.
Has anyone that has taken or is taking Suomi 1 been able to consolidate their notes so they are easy to understand?
I have learned silence from the talkative, toleration from the intolerant, and kindness from the unkind; yet, strangely, I am ungrateful to these teachers.

i did suomi 1 last summer (4 nights a week, 3 hours per night, oh boy! )

The Test -
From memory the thing i found hardest was that as the course was so fast i had not had time to absorb enough vocabulary, so i did not understand half the questions.
I also think that most of them were similar to ones in the course book (in format style)

However my favourite thing was when i got the paper back and had some finnish collegues loook over it  Learnt a couple more swear words that evening  They were shocked at how hard the beginers course exam was
ignore spelling and punctuation, i did
