It's getting awfully quiet on this thread... Does that mean that The Dutch get their victory already before it even started?

don't sell the bears skin , before....

No, I guess they need some time to warm up. There is still plenty of time.
Perhaps the British need some help from the Irish or from oversees...

Those from Minnesota should be familiar with this contest.

I am trying to find recruits..I work in Nummela and I found one local guy who knows the venue and says he might turn out for the Brits...if you make the distance 200 meters.
Or he could do all 5 X 25 meters while we watch and drink your  Korenwijn
Here is his home page.

Hmmm... I suppose he's a professional swimmer himself? Then he probably wouldn't mind if all the non-finnish teammembers do the 25 meters, trying to conquer him while he does the 200? :P

Arno, he is a world champion. He got the world record on 200 m in 1992 in Barcelona. AND..... he is not Brittish, doesn't belong to the queen.

Finnish participants are very welcome, but they have to come with their own team of course.

Wauw. Bad luck, Peter, I spoke to him several years ago, and I am pretty sure he doesn't answer.

Have you spoken with his wife, though? That's a different one.

You may speak with his father (Esa Sievinen) .... That's also a different one.

Nevertheless, 3 more into your team.

The team is not filled up yet. And we also need a lot of people to look and to witness the games.
Mind you, the best way to go through winter without a cold is this polar swimming. Here is your chance to start this unique habit.

So, come along!

This event is cancelled , since there were not so many volunteers, and the location was perhaps too far from Helsinki. Thanks for the replies to those who would like to come.

Avantouinti is also a very good remedy against the autumn depression and the dark times.
So, I leave it to others in the . to organize this in the autumn or winter.

Darn! I'd just been practising my swimming in cold water the past weekends.

I call this a victory for the Dutch team... Tom? Agree or what?

And see how happy you are after the past weekends.....

No, I can't really see this as a victory. The idea needs more time perhaps.

Keep up practising, you'll need it.

Challenge is open again. New one! And to everybody!

We challange BAT from Canada, with or without clothes, doesn't matter.

The Australians, if they can speak.

All the Americans, as far as they can write a longer story than one-line.

New 25 meter polar bear swimming contest!

There must be somebody there who is healthy enough!

Who accepts this one!

(Date: in January, in Espoo or Vantaa).

I made this a sticky, while Tom tries to round up some lunatics erm sorry competitors for his contest  I also changed the title of the post because the challenge is open to all nationalities now.
