:( I am gutted! In the States all the happy Rush fans are now busily listening to the CD, Watching to the DVD, hearing the songs on their local radio station or even going to the cinema to watch a premiere showing of Rush In Rio.

What do we get here in Europe...a wait until 24th November for the DVD and now a delay until 27th October for the CD.

But....there are now very strong rumours about a 30th Anniversary tour next year, with a good chance they will play at least some gigs in Europe. Everybody close your eyes and wish hard!!!!

Damn!!!! Doesn't it make you feel old when your favorite band might do a 30TH!!! anniversary tour???

Of course, that's assuming you were actually born when they started playing... :)

Haha...Not just born in my case, but in high school! Sigh! But it could be worse, I could have been older than they are!

Actually, who cares about age?...Just glad they're still out there making great music. :D

Hey, I got this:

Rush To Work Together Again Next Year

The members of Rush are looking forward to the release of their new live CD and
DVD Rush In Rio next Tuesday (October 21st), but they're also looking a bit
farther into the future. Guitarist Alex Lifeson told us that he and his
bandmates have had discussions about what they want to do in 2004: "Well, we're
talking about it now. There are really two routes that we can take for next
year -- either go into the studio and start writing and recording a new studio
record, or hit the road. And we've had some talks about possibly doing a
30th-anniversary tour. I think we're all leaning towards that. We haven't made
any final decisions yet, and we won't for another few weeks."

So.... there is more than just hope they will tour, it's actually very possible. Now, will they come to Europe, it's another story... :)

Yes, this is the quote from Alex that I heard too. I also know that the guys are very aware that they have been neglecting Europe and have acknowledged they should tour over here, so putting two and two together, I think it looks extremely positive. Of course I have been known to be wrong, but somehow, I don't feel the guys will let us down :)

Good day eh!

So yesterday was supposedly the official release in Europe of the triple (yes, triple) Rush in Rio CD. Despite the fact that it is almost a criminal offence, I do not yet have a copy so I am itching to get my hands on it soon.

TMLfan...welcome! It's nice to have someone here from my neck of the woods!!! Someone I can talk Toronto with...that is, if you have a fondness for that city. Perhaps you have gone through the 'conversion' and now LOVE helsinki more than your home town????

Just in case there is any doubt for anyone reading this, I HAVE NOT converted and still long for my home town every day....

Well, I've noticed a funny thing of "home town" longing. People who emigrated in the 1950's kept the image of Helsinki "as it was" and it got gilded as time went buy. Now when they come back after half a decade to make a visit back they get shocked because "everything has changed". They get upset prices are high, too many cars, wheres the horses and carriages? All these foreigners around! How the youth dress!!! Hey, they speak English to me!!!!   ....some of those old ladies came timidly to the reception in the night sometimes to have a cup of coffee and chat and told they were now homesick to Sydney or Cape Town or wherever they had moved to... Just watch out
Cheers, Hank W.

well, my parents left here almost 40 years ago and my dad would move back in a heartbeat, my mother....NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS!!! Lucky if I can get her to visit...she says the people are rude, cold, pushy...and she's a FINN! The only food she misses is good rye bread and I just sent her some in trade for Peanut Butter once in a while

When my mom visited me last year at Christmas she was not shocked at the changes but appalled that things had NOT changed as much as they 'should' have!! She even said that she would NEVER come back here...not even to visit her lovely daughter

Going back to the Rush topic... Rush have announced they WILL be doing a 30th anniversary tour in 2004 and the tour WILL include EUROPEAN DATES! :)

Let's hope Helsinki makes it in there somehow, or Stockholm at the very least!

Yes! I was up at 6:30 yesterday morning listening on the internet to Geddy and Alex being interviewed on the US radio show Rockline where they confirmed this. There is now a debate going on whether they will tour Europe before or after North America. The tour is set to be between May and september and the smart money is currently on them coming to Europe after doing the American part.

Helsinki would be a dream, Stockholm would be good enough, but I will find a way to be there even if I have to go to the UK. Thank goodness for low-cost airlines!!! :D

I didn't think anyone remembered Rush. Ian Rush, striker for Liverpool is that the Rush your on about?

I spent my youth being Rush but not scoring so much as he did, always had people taking the mik at school cos the team I supported, Liverpool, was full of ugly players! I thought Rush was very hansom with his hairy top lip!
