I want to learn Finnish

The one that always gets me is Pirkko - Pirkka. Contrary to all
systems used in the countries I've lived in, Pirkko is a girl's name and
Pirkka a guy's name! There are still some guys named Pirkka who
won't talk to me cuz I still call them Pirkko unintentionally

I won't say how surprised I was when I first came to Finland to visit
people I'd known only on IRC Amazing how I was the only female
in the bunch . Hannu and Lauri just sound so much like girl's
names...
